Hi Nick,
In despite of all the advices I'm not sure beeing lean at idle is dramatic: no load at idle so little risk, but only if only at idle...
I would log the car with Durametric to see the lambda after idle before playing with the car.
I run lightly oiled KN/BMCs for years with TT 993/997with no issue...
You told bank2, so it is not the fuel pressure or any "whole" system, yes a Maf could be guilty.
I would switch the right and left Mafs (sensor) and see if the issue follows to be sure...
Let us know...

PS: I'm interested with dead Mafs (sensors) if someone have some, I will pay the shippment.

Frizz is infamous around these parts
Now I know when you receive the BMC it must be dried for about 2 Weeks. You can simply put it on a heater. Usually out of the box is still too much oil. Now its too late, anyway this ...

That's not true at all - where did you hear that? Heat is not going to help remove excess oil if there were any.

Have you checked if your lambda sensors are working good?

My Logic tells me like I said before that it could be the MAF's or the Lambda's, I know it's not the BMC filter as I have had them on previous car's and they are not as heavily oiled as K&N's.

What I think is that the car is 6 years old now and some part's are on the way out so when I fit my hybrid turbos in the next few weeks I will change the Lambda's and the MAF's and either clean or replace the filter.

Then I think everything should be just fine!!!

get rid of the damn bmc filter asap. then get an electrical cleaner for the MAF (search the forum) and spray away (both copiously) . if you catch it early enough u should be able to salvage the mafs. mine had the same code. cleaned with spray and replaced BMC.

Search the forums and u will see bmc gives no benefit. Also many big hp kits still use stock filter.

I understand it makes not benefit except for a little more noise...

BUT why is everyone saying it now causes problems?

I did do some research before buying it and i didn't heard of this... maybe i didn't search hard enough. Can someone refer me to another thread??

Not "everyone" is saying this. I've been using BMC filters on P-cars since 2004 and have never had a problem. Usually MAF problems surface when an over-oiled filter is used.
