997.1tt with 700hp kit keep up or beat 997.2 tts

997.1 tt with 700 hp kit vs 997.2 tts rolling from 60-140. Any input would be great, I drove my friend 997.2tts and is crazy fast compare to my 997.1 tt so I was thinking of getting a 700 kit to just keep up with him. What you guys think?

by 'true,' do you mean wheel? 700 crank seems like it should be enough.

Is your buddy's car PDK? If so, that would probably account for the sensation of speed. From a dig, practically nothing can touch them. From a roll, you'll do way more than keep up if you're packing 700whp.

With a 700 kit based on modeed VTGs you will EAT him, also have in mind that he cannot do any more upgrades than exhaust/Ecu :-)
From a dig he will get the jump but you will get him quite easy

Well most of the 700kit out there like Evoms, Awe, Switzer, etc.... Are crank hp right? 700whp is an over kill for sure.

The .2 TTS are just plain fast. A true 700hp kit with average shifting wizardry will do the trick. The problem w the PDK against a manual is the PDK acts almost like its not having to shift due to the speed in which it gets to the next gear. It just keeps pulling!

Your .1 with a tune and exhaust will be close enough in my view. Have you driven a tuned .1? Try that first before jumping on the 700hp wagon. your car is stock 480hp. Tune and exhaust can be worth 100hp. Worth a test drive imho.

from a stop 0-100 wil be even.. with the tts probably getting the slight pull..
700hp engines will be laggier than a oem .2.

the dual clutch negates A LOT of the 700hp.

I have a 997.1, with Exhaust and mapping you would beat him on the rolling start. With a 700 kit, which should be flywheel hp, you most likely will be beaten in the 1/8 mile but you should overcome for the 1/4 mile. For two reasons, Launch Control w/PDK and the PDK has full throttle shifts while you let off completely between shifts.

Tune and exhaust for more fun/feel. Then I'd I leave it alone and continue to enjoy it.

I've raced an EVO 7XX car, im not sure if there's different ones I don't remember, it was definitely 7 something.... The PDK is a problem for them. It closes the gap in power big time against a manual car.
