Over-Rev report

I am looking at a purchasing a 997 GT2 from a dealer and asked them to supply me with an Over-Rev report. Their answer: We just upgraded to Porsche's new software, and it no longer shows Over-Revs:

Makes me go Hmmmm....

I find this hard to believe, is it true?

Over-Rev report

It seems very questionable considering dealers have been using over rev reports as a basis of warranty claims<O</O

Your response should be:

"So you won't have a problem if I plug my Durametric in, do you?"

^ yep sad but true.

Not sure if you want to bother with the car since the dealer has outright lied to you before you even walked in the door?

Once you confirm its not true, take it for a test drive, kill it... and then look at the dealer and tell him that any over revs are 'our little secret.... no one will ever know!'

They changed the software so they can't print the report...they can still get the over-rev numbers. Ask to talk to the service manager or senior technician.

I'm pretty sure he meant kill it as in shut down the engine. So stop the car, and talk to the dealer rep in the car, not blow up the engine...

Supports what I was told by 2 dealers that they don't print them out anymore. Although others seem to have received reports. Anyway, I received pics of the screens showing the over rev info. They should be able to provide it.
