Stripped bolt head Exhaust Any Ideas?

I am currently in the process of taking my old exhaust off. Got 3 of the 4 bolts out but have managed to strip the 13mm bolt head. DOes anyone have an idea how to get it out now?

slot it with a dremel then use a standard(flat head) screwdriver to un screw it. soak the bolt with penetrant.

Not sure that will work in this case. I dont think i could get enough torque on it with a flathead.

Vice grip...or you could either try and drill it out using one of these if it is broken flush:

Is the bolt broken, or just stripped? If it is broken and flush, you could even remove the entire turbo and have a fabricator build up the nib with a TIG and then use a vice grip on it, after which, chase the threads.

One of the moderators (eclou) had the same problem:

If you put some PB blaster on it tonight, you can try these tricks also...

Bolt extractor:

The Dremel trick would work, if you cut into the bolt, you can use an chisel and hammer to spin the bolt around.

Lastly, my personal favorite (but may not be applicable in your situation)

Drill a small hole in the center of the bolt, and hammer this in then use the vice grip.

Bolt extractor socket.

I'd try hard not to destroy the nut unless last resort. But there is a tool to do it if necessary:

soak the nut and threads with Wurth Rost-off and try the vice grips again. Make sure they are TIGHT. avoid needle nose ones as the length causes them to twist.

Got it with a large set of Vise grips. Now i will have to figure out where to get some new bolts. Thanks for both of your help with this. I soaked the bolt with WD-40 rust release spray.

Good deal - I've seen them break inside the turbo.

I'm glad you got it out without any issues.

The engine may smoke up a bit upon startup due to the WD-40 but it will burn off in a few minutes.
