Hey There,

About to be a new Owner. What peeves/concerns do you have with your 997.1? I was looking to limit my surprises and " if I only knew...."

When you run low on gas & you have to put in at least 8 gallons for the fuel gauge to register,

So lets say that you are at half tank. If you fill up. The gauge will still show half tank? Doesn't make sense. Perhaps your tank floats are off?

If I only knew how infrequently I would be able to put the pedal to the metal I would never have purchased such a hellfire of a car! But yeah...I would still buy her again!

Seriously though - I hate the fall - when I have to vacuum out the leaves from the front air dams. And I really don't want to install those screens there...love the stock look. Also the instrument bezel rattles a bit - but I know there is a fix hear on the board...not a big deal to me.

What are you getting?

the PCM, its crap, the PCM2.1 (I have a 2007 turbo) is pretty useless without an aftermarket solution, best seems to be the Dension, I have it but it isnt really "german quality" after several upgrades and reinstalls it now works fine, but I still dont trust it fully.

The fan/vents can create some weird noise (only heard at idle) it sounds like some flap or something isnt really attached properly behind the dash.

When its cold (really really cold) the interior squeks and makes rattling noises sometimes.

That's not what he said - if you are near empty and only partially fill the tank, the gauge reading will be off - it's documented in the owner's manual.

If a small quantity of fuel is added to a nearly empty fuel tank, the fuel gage cannot measure the added fuel accurately. The „remaining range“ readout will also be incorrect.

The pcm is archaic, but not a huge deal.

as others have said the PCM in the 07-08 Turbos is lacking in modern functionality. but there is an easy fix, install a europipe and roll down the windows. I haven't used the radio since

I have first hand experience with the Viper tax, Vette tax, and others but so far the Porsche tax takes the cake.

Rattles and Squeaks which gets worse with aftermarket exhaust/suspensions/colder temperature.

Stock suspension + Sport mode on + Less than perfect road =

PCM= Crap

Water gets into the engine and over the belt during car washes/heavy rain.
