It's a Ruf 550 conversion. The new owner had posted a trap speed of 130 on MS109.

This is USP's dyno of APR's flash which ran low 11s and trapped 127 with a flash and no exhaust on race fuel.

I just sold my Corvette C6Z06 with my eyes set on a 997tt.1. Power wise - Am I going to be disappointed with a lightly modified 997t?
I'll bite. If you compare a 460RWHP Vette to a 450AWHP 977T based strictly on power I don't think you'd necessarily be disappointed. Unless you're running slicks Vette traction is an issue that I just haven't encountered with the Porsche (thank you AWD). Once you're underway the Porsche is deceptively fast, as others have noted. You might not feel the power as much in a 997. But comparing a naturally aspirated car so a turbo car isn't necessarily apples to apples.

So how about a twin turbo Vette vs. a twin turbo 997? I had an APS Twin Turbo kit on my Vette and it made about 650RWHP. Even though the power levels are close my 997 w/ the EVT 775 (probably about 630 to the wheels) it doesn't feel like it pulls as hard and has never felt nearly as fast (even though I'm pretty sure it is). And all, told, the Vette cost about half the price of the Porsche.

What will get me to 500awhp? Will I have to upgrade the turbos?
I think you can get close without swapping turbos. But as a confessed "speed/power freak" down the line you may want to upgrade and the cost, IMO, seems high. For close to $30K I never would have added the EVT 775 kit to my car (I bought it with the kit). In fact I just built and installed a new LSX engine in the Vette for 2/3 of that (that car now makes 940RWHP). If your end goal is just power and speed I don't feel like the 997 tt is the best option.

I don't want to hear about interior stuff/handling stuff
I think it's a mistake to leave out things like handling. The directly affect the way the car's power can be used. All things considered I like driving the 997 way more than the Vette. I can't take the Vette into the canyons over here. But if all I cared about was best bang-for-the-buck power I'd pick the Vette in a heartbeat.

I'm not sure how that dyno session can be accurate.

Stock form the car is 480hp @ the crank.

How can it put down 460rwdhp? That's like a 4% driveline loss.

AWD driveline loss is near 20%....rwd loss is 10-15. Am I missing something? Is this possible since the rear wheels are so close to the engine?

You can get a dyno to show high and low numbers. I posted the link to show % increase over baseline in the same car, same dyno, same tuner.

Understood and fair enough.

That being said it looks like a peak of +60hp and +140tq on pump gas.

So we're looking at ~450-460whp. Impressive and congrats to the tuner...but still not where I want to be. I need to do some soul searching here.

Thanks everyone for the info.

You seem focused on the dyno numbers.

What kind of times are you trying to achieve?
