Cant stick with one car
Cant stick with one car
So I have owned my 2008 997TT for about 2 weeks now and I am already thinking.....
I got the car for an amazing price and it is perfect....tons of options, DME is perfect, 6 speed car.....I could sell it today and walk away with a profit.
BUT I have been considering putting it up for sale and upgrading to a 2010 or 2011 Turbo with a PDK. My thoughts are this....when the 991 Turbos come out, the price of the 997.2TTs will drop a decent amount. I love the 6 speed but the truth is the stoplight to stop light performance of the PDK is so much faster. The 2-3 changes that I would make to my 997.1 would be DRL in the turn signals and a better PCM which are both addressed in the 2010/2011....plus I could move to a PDK which interests me a ton.
Should I shut up and drive the car? Make the changes to the DRL and radio? Make the move to a 2010/2011? I think I could make the upgrade of 2-3 years and only have to pay $20-30k....yes I have a problem!

I have both a track coupe and a pdk cab... mannn the cab is smooth , I actually enjoy it on the racetrack as well. In sport plus with paddle mode it's amazing , if you wanna just cruise or are stuck in traffic the auto is great. The shifts are so damn quick its unbealivable. The cars feels great, better than any transmission ive ever tried.
alexo..that is what I am thinking. If I was going to only track the car I wouldn't even consider the PDK because lap after lap it just wouldn't survive long...now to see if I can talk the wife into it.
I just bought a 2011 Turbo S Cab, and I think I bought at a time when the values were planing, relative to the initial lead-weight drop from MSRP. So that took 2-3 years. I don't honestly believe, with MSRPs in the 200k range, that the intro of the 991TT will have a whole lot of impact on the values of 997.2 TTs, at least the 2011 versions.
Anyway, given my bias, I would get the 2011 version, that you can currently purchase in the 115-135 range, depending on miles, enjoy it for a few years, then jump on the 991TT after it's been out a few years.
my $.02

I've been going through a similar thought process. Except I'm looking at a c4s to keep the price the same. Picked up my 07 turbo just a month ago! I know there's no comparison in performance but I actually prefer NA cars and crave the pdk with my commute....
Message me and let me know if you want to sell or the right price of course. I am very interested since it is a 6-speed, I would love more information about it too Pictures would be amazing.
New to the forums also, So hopefully we can talk more
Thanks so much,
