He was my vendor so I will complain to him not to fabspeed and I trusted him because he told me exactly the same thing that he is saying about this exhaust...

When you tell people "you will stand behind the system" you are making yourself responsibility responsible! So if the product is BS you have to suck it up when people come back to you upset.

If you can't stand behind you own word then you don't have a word....

 

This is not a knock on you but I don't think you are originally from the US. Sadly a lot of companies are allowed to lie on their marketing and they send a dyno with it to "prove" their claims. A vendor can choose to believe the company selling that supposedly had 'proof" of their claims or a guy that just bought it and says it does NOT. They always have an out saying the car they tested had all these other mods, that the CAI added to it. They always say UP TO so you can get from 0-17hp and the company says SEE you gained 0 we said that!!
The only recourse is to sue the company that lied.
Thats why car companies like Porsche say the 911tt is 3.5 to 0-60. They arent going to put 3.1 or 3.2 because if the average joe cant get that speed or time they could be sued!
However unfortunately in the US and Europe more and more places are saying their stuff will do X and increase HP from 0-40HP and they LIE. They end up doing as well and selling as much as the guys that tell the truth. Someone would rather buy the product that says it can get Up to 40HP!!! than the guy that says his product WILL get 10-20...


That is how things work. Your vendor trusted the builder of that CAI. That builder actually has a pretty good name in the aftermarket world. Did they cut corners? Could you get your money back if you sued? Maybe, but then again you bought it on ebay.
I would not bash on a guy that puts trusted names on his shelves because one product from the company sucks.

If Sambo sold TUBI, would you say Tubi sucked?

 

1- I don't know why you care or if I'm an American citizen or not... do I need to post a picture of my a Passport? 4 years in the Marines and 2 deployments to Afghanistan.... Do I need to say more? What have you done for this country?

2- Sue a company for a $700 air intake? Please give me a breaker.

3-I was a freaking idiot when I bought that air intake... That was way before I joined this forum... Back in February so I didn't know anything about cars... I trusted somebody's word!!!! No Fabspeed... I trusted SAM! That's why I'm "upset" (I'm not really upset I just don't trust him anymore)

4-If you can't understand that I'm done talking to you...

 

I like to read reviews from customers... I don't trust reviews from vendors or dealers...

 

This good BUT what happens when you come across a few customers that are non the wiser and promote a companies product because they just Idolise that company for no good reason?

Squat, many systems do not use a heat shield. This has to do with several reasons one being the size of the system and how close it is to everything. I don't want to list brands but I can say over half do not deem it necessary.

Leo, I wish you told me something. This is the first I have heard of you not being happy. Please do not comment that I "screwed" you when you never even gave me a chance to back my words. And you know what, I would still take care of you on that or any other product to help. Call me anytime like it says! Please at least try that before commenting. Otherwise I have not done anything wrong. I can stand behind Porsche, if you move to Lambo for an upgrade or improvement for yourself does that mean someone screwed you? If you called you would have been taken care of my friend

How many customers will idolize a company without having a good reason? A few right? I agree but how many vendors idolize their products just to make more profit? Almost every vendor because they need to stay in business....

 

This is a very good point!

I wonder how many vendors are in this business because of passion and don't really need the income they gain from these products!

 

If you can do both I think you have won Nick. I have been in this business for 15 years and came back after a Military engineering contract.

Not one person had complained about Kline. Only happy users. If there is a complaint, I would do what I could to sort it or set it right. That's all I am trying to say because it was brought up in this thread and I saw a chance to put it out there.

 

Don't get me wrong I am not saying anything bad about Kline I was just generalising!

I also respect the fact you have come on here to speak up and show you are willing to resolve customer issues

 

It's important for you to know that I don't think you are a bad vendor, I was just very disappointed with the air intake! And you know that thing is the worst modification you can do to a 997TT ;-) but hey! i was the idiot who bought it.

Please let's not associate Kline with the "cold air intake" I hear nothing but good things about this exhaust...

I don't know you but I like honest people, I like to buy good products! Quality products! I work hard for my money and I like to spend it for things that are going to make me happy not for an aftermarket product that will give me problems.

I want my vendors to make money! I want them to have a good business so they can invest money in researches and offer better products every year.

 

Yes and I don't know you either but you think very similar to me which I do like. Money doesn't go on trees!

I agree vendors are in a business to make money to put food on the table, create better products etc etc!!!!

If you have a bad product it is also good to let everyone know as I have done in the past because sometimes its the only way to get a vendors attention I guess.

But I also know how to draw the line and not make myself look bad too.

I am staying out of this now as this has gone way off topic!!!
