Chrono question
The car is in pristine condition without a scratch on it. It looks more brand-new than my 6-month old Mercedes. You make it sound like because it doesn't have the stopwatch, it is a worthless junk.
I'm thinking about ordering the carbon fiber stopwatch cover from Rottec which might go well with the carbon fiber steering wheel that I'm expecting to receive from DCT Steering next week. Does anyone have experience with the Rottec unit?

A competent Porsche buyer would see that band-aide on the dash and it would be a giant red flag that something is wrong with the car. If you did not notice that as a red flag what else is wrong with the car that you did not notice. All you have to do is search "beware" on this search tool and you would see how many iffy cars are out there. There are plenty of people out there that can make lots of money by lying or washing a title. Or the last owner was so cheap that when it broke he just removed it and put the patch and would not pay the $300 for one on Ebay. If he did that what else did he not do to a 150k car.
Just read this and tell yourself if you would know how pristine this car is without doing your homework. One red flag is this car had red belts when it was built and now black belts. Probably means nothing to you but to me it means the owner crashed the car and was unable to get the original red belts and replaced them with easy to find black belts or used the car as a race car and removed it for weight savings but lost them.

I appreciate your concern but let me tell you that I got full car history from the Porsche dealer and I know that it has never been painted. The reason for the cover was that the previous owner used the stopwatch housing for custom speaker that he got installed at the same time with an audio system and radar system which he paid a lot for. I would agree with you that keeping the stopwatch would be better and that's why I'm trying to get it back to the original look but luckily the reason for the cover was not to hide some unfortunate secret.
Just curious, so you sold the turbo for a regular 997? Adding a speaker in that spot is very odd, given that there is a center channel location right in front of that location. Any unusual mods are always a sign to me that where there is one, there are likely to be more. Anyway, good luck with the car.
I don't know who came up with it but I didn't sell my TT. It is my TT that I was talking about.
So anybody has experience with the Rottec cargon fiber stopwatch cover?

Sorry, I started the confusion. It appeared that the dash was not leather, but perhaps it is. Can't really get a good enough look at it in your pic.

No, however I have purchased a bunch of carbon from Dan at DB Carbon in Germany. They purchase new OEM parts directly from Porsche and do the carbon overlay using their parts. You keep your original in case you sell your car and want to swap the parts again. Not trying to steer you away from Rottec, just another option.
I think you are a .1 If so here is a link to their product.
