997.1 LED Tails
I have a bit of an update.
I had a chat with the Gent that owns and runs Carlightpro.com. This is how the story went.
Apparently Dectane holds the design/patent for these tails and had Depo manufacture them. Initially Dectane was the only place you could get them but they would not distribute in the USA.
The German fellow who operates CarLightsPro apparently was a photographer for Dectane. He managed to score a set of the tails back in the day, one thing led to another, and he was approached to be the official distributor for the US. He is apparently the ONLY official distribution point.
Apparently there are a lot of Depo stamped tails out there that are not the same quality as the official ones from Dectane (despite being stamped Depo). This might explain the quality control variance on the forums.
This is just what I was told. Who knows maybe he was just trying to justify his higher prices, but he seemed like a legit bloke so I'm inclined to believe him.

^ that would make sense.
Dectanes are TUV approved btw... that should tell you something right there in terms of what their about, and the quality that surely goes into them.
rottec are not.
im personally not a fan of rottec products. i had their CF front lip that fit like ****. i meant really.. fit absolutely horrible. the highway did me a favor a tore the lip right off my bumper.

gt2 sideskirts are sweet.. subtle aggressiveness (can we coin this term ? ). i bet the oems would look SWEET with a dry carbon overlay (or wrap).
this fellow member did it right.. oem components with cf overlay... so clean but so $$$$

I actually just received mine earlier today and will install over the weekend.
They are smoked and appeared to true smoked and not a film.
Below is a animated gif of the DRL's from the same provider (MaxSpeed Motorsports).
Hopefully I made the right decision....????...I do like responsible parties for shoddy craftsmanship.

Okay, I attempted to install mine last night...Ran into a little hiccup while watching the Delray install Youtube postings. For Turbo installs are calling for a "resister". I have a 09 997.1TT, does anyone know if its needed for model year 09's? They appear to be the exact same lights and packaging shown in the Delray videos. Of course, being the weekend, I haven't had any luck contacting Delray or MaxSpeed to confirm this...hmmm...
vid, yes you'll need the resistors. it's needed for the .1's MY07-09.
i can say for sure the dectanes require a resistor.
btw, do rottecs have rear foglights ?

^^^ Thanks. Yes the Rottecs have rear fog lamps. However, I am unclear if my car is actually equipped with rear fog lamps? The Head Light Switch on the dash, if you rotate it clock wise until full stop, you can then pull it out toward you one click for the front fog lamps, then you can pull it one more click to activate a rear fog lamp (?)...only the drivers side eliminates though...outer edge.
US delivered turbos (likely all 911's) do have an active rear fog light…as you pointed to it is only active on one side and only comes on when activated via the switch.
The ROTTEC lights should come plug and play. Whatever resistors are needed should be built right into the light housing.
The Dectane lights however are different and I have read several threads where an additional resistor is required.
