Been thinking seriously of trading '07 turbo to '14 turbo. Tough decision, some pros and cons over those of '07s below.
Pros: Gain knee airbags, +40HP, 20" wheels, LSD std, optional rear camera, uplift front spoiler (whoopee) and rear wheel steering (DD value??
Cons: Lose manual 6speed, cost $162K - $52K (rip-off offer for '07 turbo), lose $40K instant depreciation when 911 leaves lot, lose well-designed turbo inlets in exchange for 2-black holes, lose precious elbow room with up-lifted pdk console, added std annoying auto start/stop, lose white-face gauges w/o $1300, std rear wiper aborted, will need EP1-exhaust install-hassle again as with '07 for decent sound.
Still searching, but are there more 'real' advances over the '07 turbo that I may have missed
Porsche turbos are sport cars, they are designed extremely sporty and sports cars require manual shift boxes. If one is forced to get an auto-trans, why not get a GT-car with more sophicated, more premium styling like with Aston Martin, M6, GTR, Merc C63 AMG, Ferrari calif or even a Panamera coupe if one is ever offered.

May have to do that because '07 still like new, bought it new. However, in the past, tried two cars, and after awhile you just drive the one you like best and the other just sits there and depreciates. And too, keeping up maintenance on two cars can be a pain over time.....just keeping them washed etc.
Seems like you might be a good candidate to put a simple tune on your 07 if you haven't already. You'll pick up more than the 40hp difference, and keep the manual trans you like. Airbags and rear camera IMO aren't worth anything compared to the feel of driving a high hp manual car. You can also do some choice suspension mods to make the car feel more like the newer cars without compromising comfort.
I also have an '07 997.1 TT and I would say hold on to yours. The new '14 Turbo is an awesome car but it's not worth losing the $40K in drive off money. Just do a tune and mods for the horsepower because the 997.1 is still a great car. Also having had 3 Porsches I always find that after they introduce a new model they always tweak or add new features the 2nd or 3rd year.

I still suggest you to get a used toy that already depreciated to a point that it won't loose much more value like an F430. You will definitely have less depreciation than a new 991TT. Also the best of both worlds, the German quality and Italian excitement
Sounds to me that you would do the trade if the economics were more to your liking. I find that, over time, we get to appreciate the refinements Porsche makes to new 911s (e.g., water-cooled engine, DFI, "driver aids", PDK, electronic steering, and dare I say...cup holders)...however I am yet to meet a p-car owner who got over a bad trade (afterall searching for months for the "right" car is half the fun, right?)
If the trade-in quote on your '07 is too low, the MSRP on the 991TT too high and the depreciation too steep...then hang on to your car (it sounds like its in great shape) and make the leap when the economics make more sense to you. There's no harm in looking, just don't touch as you may walk into a dealership and leave with a new 991TT..!! It's been known to happen.

Hold to your car for a bit more until a good 2nd hand 991tt is available.... I mean...... You can still order a 991tt with the option of Manual...... But...once again.... You will pay "premium".....
Just my .02 cents.:-)
I wish "with the option of a manual." Would buy the 991 turbo in a second. Two dealerships have already told me no chance for a manual box ever again in a turbo, but again these dealers want to sell pdk-turbos and-GT3s..
I also have a 2007 model 911 Turbo. Had it for 6 years. If cost no object, I would trade up to the 991 Turbo ONLY IF I would be interested in more daily driving of the car. There has been much debate about PDK vs Manual trans in regards to performance, but best benefit of PDK IMHO is it allows you to use car more as DD (drive one handed), but still retain high performance driving if you want for the track. Other pluses of trading up are improved ride, less tire noise (biggest downer for my car on long drives!), upgraded electronics, warranty. Again, all things that allow for more DD than your current car.
My car has the Switzer P700 package, and lowered suspension, which has transformed the car. I live in South Florida. If you want to check out my car (if you decide to keep your car and want to upgrade it), let me know.

If that's all the "pros" you think then the answer is no for you.
But there are many many many more pros than what you listed. How about a full warranty? A larger engine with larger VTG turbos? A much better chassis/handling? A car that goes 10's bone stock? Way better interior with more comfortable seats and much better PCM/NAV/stereo system? Better exterior lighting? No squeaks or rattles? etc, etc, etc.
The 2014 is huge upgrade. No question about it.
