Kline installed today!

Hi everyone,

I know that there has been quite a few discussions about exhaust systems and let me share my experience. I have been seriously considering to purchase the Kline for few months now because of all the positive user feedback and the very competitive price but I was hesitant because I could never listen to it in person and you all know how the sound quality can be poor at online videos.

Finally I decided to pull the trigger and called Sam @ByDesign. Let me start by saying that Sam is very knowledgeable and professional. I've talked to him on Tuesday and he made sure that I receive the shipment by Thursday so that I can get it installed before the weekend. He also called me few times to follow up on the installation so I can only say great things about his service.

So I have the Kline 200 (for 997.1TT) installed today and I'm so happy with the outcome. I didn't necessarily want a loud exhaust but wanted just better sound. I am very happy with the sound but I also feel the difference in power. It has a nice solid idle sound which gets better and better as you rev up. I think that the Kline exhaust compliments the turbo engine very well and it is hard to understand how Porsche allows such a good car leave the plant without a similar option available from the manufacturer (If you want to be really loud, you should probably consider 100 cell or catless versions).

Hello

I'm glad that you liked it, in my case I tried the borla catless first and it sounds good but it wasn't that loud for my taste, and You can't even hear the turbos so I decided to go with straight pipes which I just got installed yesterday, love the turbo whistle but they are way to loud and it is a really straight tone which I didn't like, now I am actually looking for a system which you can listen to the turbos, with a nice tone, hopefully I'll find it next time $$$$$$

Is anyone running the 100 cell version? I'm interested in getting one of these for my cab but I wonder if the 100 cell is too loud.

Hi Roy,

I did a turbo cab with the 100's. No drone! I will guarantee it. If you needed I would even swap cats for you as a back up.

In stock!

I got 100 cell, I'm literally in the middle of pulling GMG (1 stubborn nut), and will put the Kline on. But... I'm prolly 4+ weeks from driving it, given our weather and the fact that I live on a dirt road which looks like the craters on the moon at the moment...

Haha, that is rough. I know how you feel, just got my car back after a week at the dealer and now they are calling for a huge snow storm tomorrow. GL with removing the old system, let us know how it turns out! Definitely interested in 100 cell.

At the risk of another exhaust thread , the GMG, for me drones a bit when the top is up at cruising speeds. Otherwise, it's a fantastic sounding exhaust - I hope the Kline lives up to it. Just don't want an exhaust that is almost perfect, and I couldn't fork out for EP. Otherwise the GMG will go back on. Basically my one gamble.

SamboTT, I believe that I've read posts somewhere indicating that the 100s create a CEL alert. Is this true with the Kline?

I can't speak for Kline and I know that you directed the question elsewhere, but just in case others not interested in Kline read this thread, EP uses 100s and there are absolutely no issues with CEL. Not sure about other exhausts.

I asked both Sam, and Felix from Kline this question - iirc answer was some cars do, some don't. But with a tune (if you're using one), it's not an issue if you mention it.

The 997 turbos are very sensitive and finicky. You will get different answers from different manufactures and even tuners. That's why many manufacturers provide secondary O2 sensor extenders. Some who even use HJS cats do. I have installed many Klines with both 100 and 200 cell cats and use the extenders just in case. No problems whatsoever regardless of tune. There are now HJS cats available from Kline as well. With more precious metals they are more efficient and this works for many manufacturers. All comes down to cost. The Standard cats used are very high-quality and are supported with 4 year warranty.

If I may say, in my opinion there's no exact science to it when you factor quality cost and sound. But you can get pretty close as some great manufactures do. All I know is that I stand behind all of my customers and everything I say. So far everyone is happy!

Best
