My 997 tune and upgrades - NEW
Just wanted to introduce myself. I am new to posting here to the 6speed Porsche community, and after months of, researching here, I acquired a 2007 997.1 TT
Had her about a year and a half now and have been slowing adding on the gadgets and my fingerprints as we all seem to do.
I have found this is a great resource for knowledge, upgrades and watch outs. You guys sure offer a lot to this community and I look forward to contributing my own experiences of what I have learned along the road on these forums.
I'd like to first offer thanks and a shout out to acknowledge some great vendors and products that I have learned about here and added to my car.

First - Softronics tune - Today just uploaded the 93 octane tune and can only stop grinning long enough to say "Holy ****" that sure awakened the beast. She is night and day more responsive and FAST (only wish he had a v2.0 for my wife...lol) by far the best upgrade to date. Scott really knows his stuff, install was very easy and Very noticeable results. If your considering this, stop the mental gymnastics and jump on it , Thanks again for the follow up call Scott.
Second - SharkWerks - installed the RSS rear engine mounts today just before loading the tune software and this combo is of the hook. Much more solid feel at WOT and cornering feels more controlled and predictive. Alex is offering some very trick parts, great guys out there in Cali
Third - DelRey Customs - Saturn is "the man"when it comes to what I call electronic "creature comforts" . I got the LED taillight upgrades, Stage 2 Alpine iNE-WS920HD, JLAudio, Focal, custom dash kit,iPod and BU camera. I also have installed the Escort 9500ix and Blinders-HP front and rear with hope of avoiding detection, so far, so good. His Tube channel is most helpful.
Fourth - Maxspeed Motorsports - Nello is another great guy, very responsive, and customer focused. He carries more creature comforts I splurged over Christmas for some stocking stuffers with the HID headlights,LED fogs, interior, and license plate bulbs that fit our cars without error. I got a set of the NHP Quad exhaust tips which fit perfectly and are nice eye candy from the rear, as well as full functioning quads. They should fit nicely withe the EP1 I am sighting on now.
Kudos as well to Shawn at Suncoast Parts, Steph at Europipe, and Mark at TechArt.
Everything I have read and everyone I've met have een most helpful. thanks guys!

Congrates on your build. I went with the EP2. It sounds great!
This site has so much information on it. You should never have problem that cant be solved with the vendors and personal experience that you will encounter.
On your LED taillights, did you have to install a resistor for an error free install?

Yes on the resistors a simple mount with servo tape in the taillight well to hold them secure. Didn't notice extreme heat when running them and no error codes for about a year now...they look great IMO.
The heat part is what has steered me away.
I tried some ohm resistors for some LED plate lights and they got hot enough to burn or even self destruct themselves.
I agree, they look great and you have a year experience with no problems. That's positive.

Congrats on the upgrades & to post the large pics in the thread get a photo bucket account then upload the pics to photobucket, then copy the last box under the pic (the one that says img) then paste that in the message box of your thread & voila its done.

Sweet car. I haven't been a fan of the 997.2 wheels, but I have to admit that they sure look great on your car. Car color - GT silver?

Nice car and great initial mods. If you haven't considered it yet, think about adding the IPD plenum (I just added it as a mod on my car...review to follow) and it's great. You will feel the imroved airflow, better responsiveness and quicker turbo spool immediately. For the price, I think it is one of the best price/value mods out there...
Thanks guys! My car color is Article Silver Metallic. The front aero air dam, GT2 side rocker panels came unpainted from Suncoast as did the Rear Diffuser from TechArt. I had those custom painted to match before install.
I am new to Porcshe as well = 997.1 TT 2009
