Thinking about going to a 997.1TT
I went with a 2009 997.1TT cab. I never thought I'd purchase a convertible, but it was nearly impossible to find a coupe that met my criteria. I ended up getting everything I wanted except for the PCCB. At the end of the day, I'm so much happier I didn't hold out for the PCCB. It's a lot more money and I don't really need it. The stock brakes are already strong enough!
I mainly went for the .1 for tunability. I've got a protronic tune, AWE exhaust, and drop-in filters scheduled for installation next week. I'm also adding a sachs 2.5. At altitude, I'm expecting to hit nearly 500 whp. Not bad!
PS - If you were never a convertible person, I suggest you give it a try. There's nothing like hitting 0-60 in just over 3 seconds without a top!

First, many thanks for all the comments. I appreciate everyone taking the time to chime in.
I don't think that I have room in my budget for a .2.
The .1 I am looking at is a 6MT with less than 15,000 miles. It is CPO and is nicely equipped. I will be scheduling a test drive in the near future and will let everyone know how it works out.
Again, thank you for your comments.

I just went through this and couldn't be happier. I say go for it!

Don't wait long...it won't last. Seems like there is $$ in the air and any 997.1 gets scooped up fairly quickly. Good luck. I'm out of my 2009 997.1 - and although satisfied with my change of pace - wake up every morning thinking about her. Soon...soon...
I was looking at various 2011 Turbos - and it seemed that anything that had one owner and low miles did not last long at all - and especially since we are headed into the spring.

Lots of reasons, as stated above and in other threads...
More power, more efficiency, greatly improved suspension and AWD systems, modern electronics, improved switches, and a tighter build/feel.
Good enough?
