997.2 TT Europipe in the Atlanta area ???
Hey guys, pretty interested in the system for my turbo. The video clips sounds great, however, would love to hear it in person. Anyone in the area have the system on there otherwise stock car I could maybe take a quick listen to?. Big thanks!
I have EP 1 on my 997.1.
I am in Newnan, south on 85 about 30 min from atlanta(depends on how u drive). I am in for a meet. There is a TT guy here as well from Rennlist..
Jerry, let us know when you are in town...we plan a meet at Ashley park one weekend ....meet and lunch.
I'd like to call for Sunday if possible. I work Saturdays. Do you guys make it out to caffeine and octane on 1st Sunday of month in Alpharetta? If you have not been it's worth the ride.

I'm working my butt off this month but I will let you know, I have always wanted to go to one of those caffeine things. If not this month then next it would be fun to meet you guys there and any other atl guys.
Man, you guys aren't far. I'm in Columbus GA. I'd love to meet up.
I've got a BBI exhaust and got rid of my EP to get to this. Have BBI exhausts on my 997tt and 996tt. I would suggest them above ALL else.

Be aware that many ECU upgrades make a 997.2 Turbo and Turbo S sound less aggressive. I've heard EP equipped cars that lost 50% of their characteristic tone after a tune. And with equal lenght headers you'll lose that typical flat 6 sound which is a pity.
Stef, I just got a brand new Stage 1 for my 997.1 TT coupe, does it increase in sound a little bit as it breaks in...20%? The performance gain is very obvious with the UMW tune, but I wish that it had a just little bit more of a burble/tone. Very high quality exhaust, thx!

There is no break-in time as we don’t use any sound insulation materials.
The loudness is boost related so it depends on your driving style. You can drive all day long with zero turbo boost and it will sound relatively quiet.
Once you load the engine (watch the boost gauge) the loudness increases and the turbo whistling sound becomes prominent. Driving uphill on a steep uphill road in say 4th gear at 2400 rpm can sound 50% louder than driving in 4th at 2400 rpm on a leveled road. It’s mostly turbo whistle what you hear when driving uphill on steep roads.
You’ll hear the bark when you release the gas pedal abruptly. It’s the vanes of the VTG turbochargers that go back to their neutral position. Again, the higher the turbo boost the louder the bark when you release the gas pedal. A Tiptronic sounds less aggressive because it somewhat keeps going when you release the throttle so there is less bark.
Cheers
