Bluetooth Connection Nightmare!
Hey all,
So I've been trying all sorts of phones to connect to my 2010 997 Turbo, and it seems that nothing is working!
I have the new blackberry Q10 phone and I've tried my brother's Iphone 5 and here are the outcomes:
(1) Blackberry Q10: When I search for the phone (from the PCM screen), I do find it. When I attempt to connect, it connects fine, but it seems that my actual phone gets disconnected from everything else (no whatsapp chat, no text messages, no BB Messenger). it even has the network off. Connection seems to transfer to the PCM screen as I happened to receive a phone call and everything was fine. But I cant dial someone's number from the phone itself, it has to be done from the PCM screen which is a pain in the a$$!
(2) Iphone 5: When I search for the phone from the screen, I can't seem to find the Iphone at all. I had both phones with me and the Blackberry found the Iphone. which confirms that the phone's Bluetooth is on and working.
Whats with this dilemma?
All my cars connect just fine and I can dial a number from the actual phone then hear it over the speakers. Also everything else stays on like Whatsapp chat, SMS, etc.

Try deleting all paired phones on the PCM and erase any pairings to PCM (as it appears on iPhone 5) and start over. If it won't come up then I think there is something wrong with your bluetooth module. What version of software are you running on the PCM, 1.41? You may have to take a trip to the dealer.
FYI my iPhone 5 works perfectly fine over bluetooth with my PCM (for calls only, not for music streaming - as that is not supported on PCM 3.0)

usually when connected like that the phone basically replicates to the head unit, or it does on older systems. PCm needs an upgrade
the Ihpone might have a setting where you need to open it too all devices. Not too sure on the 5 though.
I do know that Iphone generally has more difficulty security wise from a user stand point than an air attack on it. Meaning easier to get what you want from the phone with it on sitting on a table than having it in your hands, at least from a normal user point of view.

Mine is v1.47, so yes, yours may be old; I think the latest firmware addressed bluetooth and iPhone issues.
Take it to the dealer, tell them your connectivity problems and ask if there is a PCM update, should be covered (it is in the US anyway under warranty).
Good luck
