Headstuds are easy. I suppose rods don't sound super difficult either, but unless you've assembled engines before or have someone to supervise that has I wouldn't recommend it. I have assembled 4G63s before but that was ~8-10 years ago.

They aren't press fit so I hear they are easy....once the motor is out none of that stuff is difficult.

If you think assembling the motor is easy you are mistaken. If it was easy everyone would be doing it

Taking it apart is easy lol.

Let me know if you still think it's easy when you installed middle Pistons on this motor while reassembling the cylinders

Headstuds are not hard but you gotta know how to set them and how to torque them. Since you are not going for oem boost, oem specs won't do. O ringing the cylinders, need the special tooling. Setting the timing, need special tooling.

Very true. I'm trying to find a shop to build my car to 1300whp. There's less than a handful of people I think can truly do it.

Agreed, I am not saying it is super easy... You should be able to get the head torquing procedure from the head stud vendor. I would imagine torque it up around 100-110 ft lbs in 3-steps with everything lubed up more than a **** star.

I don't know where to start on the rods & oil pump though. I would have to read the factory service manual and talk to some people before even thinking about trying to attempt it.

Everyone is not doing it because the market is just to small to support it.

Are you implanting that a builder would charge 12k on TOP of parts?

Lmao I am not "implanting" anything. I was suggesting 12-15k for everything.

Maybe market would be bigger if it were cheaper.

The best quote I have gotten is about $16k for a bare bones basic rebuild. It gets up around 25k if you do much of anything. I agree 100% with you here, the market would be 2-3x bigger if the prices were more realistic.

I have seen my own engine built in front of me on a daily basis. I'm telling you now it is not easy. Like Prodigy said easy to take apart but you trying putting it back together.

Even people that build these engines every week were getting wound up with the middle pistons

That's what protomotive, 911 design, bbi, and all other big shops charge.
