1st and 2nd gear acceleration issue...

Hi,
4000km after my 3,8 built my car runs very fine, running 100-200 and 60-130 in 4,6'/5,3', and overall the feeling at driving is ok for me.
But I noticed since it is so fast I can't WOT in 1st and 2nd gear: the throttle closes from itself a short time and cuts the accel!
I tried PSM off and while it helps a bit it is not enough, the PSM still comes back and cuts the engine!

Did some of you guys faced this issue?
In my experience it happens above 750hp/1000Nm, my car is a MT.

Thxs

Sounds like you hit the limiter. The limiter will cut power to prevent you from over taxing the engine.... I think

Same thing started happening to me at peak load and boost in 1st and 2nd gear once I converted to e85. My tuner said its the throttle body closing momentarily due to the ASR kicking on even though PSM button is turned off.

1st and 2nd are so short that it's hard to imagine you can get on full throttle without scaring the crap out of yourself. Even with just my upgraded vtgs it's sometimes hard to go WOT in the first 2 gears, I can't imagine what it's like in your car! Not a bad problem to have, lol.

Yes, same issue, and of course NOT the rev limiter it happens about 4000rpm at full load.
So not resolved in your case?
But how do the guys who run 1/4 miles etc... with big setups?

Are you running stock ecu still, or a standalone like Motec, etc?

Tuner said he only see's this happen on the big turbo setups, and only started seeing this w Vtgs once guys started running e85 due to the torque. He said the hard acceleration rate of the wheels make the stock ecu think its spinning and ASR kicks on, and closes throttle for a split sec.

I was sent a tune today w the Asr switched off to see if it gets rid of the issue. I'll test tomorrow and we'll see..

I run the stock Ecu.
Our issue is exactly the same. (I run Alpha30 turbos)
My tuner told me he will work on the ASR as well, who is your tuner? (I guess it is the same...)
Please let me know your result with your last tune.
Thxs

Yes Ali, it is possible a better grip can lower the spinning percentage allowed before the ASR kicks on.
I can try to WOT on a very clean road with warm tires to check...

With PSM on it cuts acceleration and the TC lights doesn't even flicker (at 1st I thought something was wrong with the car) but with the PSM off I never felt it cut

On mid boost my car spins 1st 2nd and sometimes 3rd, very hard to get off the line with Michelin PSS

I need another set of wheels. The past few weeks the weather was great but it started raining today.

w00zy, what kind of fuel are you using? This issue seems to be with the e85 cars for now

I also have r888's with less than 2k miles on them. Therefore, I am not sure if replacing them would help out in this scenario.

Pascal and Ali, thanks guys.
