Anybody else have a blown front diff?

I have a 2011 Turbo S with 17K miles and the last couple of months there has been a noise that varied with speed. Turns out I have a blown front diff. Fortunately I still have 1 month left on the warrantee.

Anybody else have this issue and any specific reason why this happens? I tracked it ONCE for 2 hours last year and I've taken it down the strip probably only a dozen times or so.

Otherwise, this is my DD and most of the time I'm just cruising to and from work.

This thread may be beneficial - it is possible the previous owner (if purchased used) ran the incorrect tire size

I am sure you get a 2 year warrantee on new parts. I would rather do this than risk fitting a used one.

Okay but then you get a used one for maybe half the price with the risk of it happening again.

How did it happen if you don't mind me asking?

I have no idea. My car has low milage never went to a track/street racing. Everytime i turn the steering (full lock) i hear strange noises from the front and something is pushing through out the car, thats when it started.
Then the noises became louder on the full locks, and when driving in straight line the same pushes are coming through out the car, here when i took it to the workshop. Hope i picked the right words to explain the issue lol

I have no idea how mine busted. Always the stock tire size too. Mine didn't have any issues when turning, but just a constant whir whir whir whir that sped up or slowed down based on speed.

The dealership found metal shavings in the diff housing. Waiting for parts for now and should be done by next week.

This issue is making me reconsider a warrantee now. Had no idea a front diff is 7K!!!!

I mean, I could get a bulletproof OS-Giken super lock LSD for less than 3K for my IS-F, why is a weaker lightweight front diff for a Turbo S 7K???

When I take tight turns on my CPO 997.2 with low miles, I get a weird noise too, like a scrubbing noise, but I run stock everything.

My car makes no other noise and drives fine. Now you got me worried.
