Disgusted with Pirelli
I have a problem with my new Pirelli P-ZEROs. They came new on my CPO .1TT in March of this year, and after less than 500 miles all 4 tires developed very visible cracks in the tread near the outside sidewalls. The date codes on the tires were all in the mid 2013 range. I went to my local Discount Tire store ( these guys are great, by the way). They took pictures and contacted Pirelli who offered me a 25% discount on a new set of Pirelli tires. I sort of think their offer is laughable, but I'm interested in what others may think. Any thoughts?

hmmm i agree.
are they p zero corsas ? can you post a pic ?
this probably isnt the case, but certain types of tire shine contains chemicals that can break down the material quicker.. but on a 2013 tire that is highly unlikely.. unless the dealer put acetone on the tires.

Thanks Steve. I'll try to get some pics posted. I did put tire shine on when I washed the car but I doubt that any other chemicals have been used. No signs of rubber crumbling or disintegration, just cracks 1/2" to 1" in length. They are not Corsas just P-ZERO.
Hey, I hope you get your electrical probs sorted soon. Keep us posted

If you need Pirelli's consumer relations number, it's 800-747-3554. It may be worth giving the number a call and see what the operator can do to help. I'm sorry to hear they are cracking on you.

Just a side note - when I ordered the Hankooks from you yesterday, I had a nice chat with Cindy in customer service - very helpful.

Have you or do you know if these tires were used in the cold? These new super grippy tires tend to crack when the temp goes below 40 or so.

Hmmmm. Good question. I bought the car, CPO, from a Porsche dealer in Minnesota, and the tires were put on new shortly before it was shipped to me in Georgia. Being precautious, I changed the oil and all fluids soon after I received it, and my indie noticed the cracks. If it was driven in cold weather, it would have been in MN.
