997.2 market???

Been entertaining buying PDK turbo for about 5 months now love the performance potential and practicality of the car (coming from a viper fun fast car, but not the easiest to live with). So I have been looking at all the usual sites selling cars and it seems a large amount of the same cars have been for sale for months at the 110 to 125 range. Are these prices in line or are they sitting because they are priced too high?

Decided to get serious about month ago and sold my viper. Was hoping to get a nice turbo in the mid 90 range with moderately low miles. If I can't find something in my price may go option two and order a new Z06, any input would be much appreciated

You won't find a low miles 997.2 PDK for mid $90's. You can find a 997.1 Tip for less OR a higher mileage 997.2 PDK. Maaaaaybe you could find a 997.2 PDK not CPO'd which might get you close to your price but I honestly doubt it.

And yes, 997.2 PDK turbos with low miles are easily $105k - $110k.

And honestly, the difference between a $95k car and $105k car is nothing. If someone can't afford a $105k car, I doubt they can afford a $95k car.

Really not about affording a car it is about justifying a car I might put 2 to 3k miles on a year. I agree not a big difference between 95 and 105 but there is a pretty significant difference when many of the cars I am looking at our listed 120+. All I am asking is where the market is so you are saying a car with 10 to 15k miles is in the 105 to 110. That would explain why many of the cars I have been looking have been sitting unsold. Appreciate the input would love to know what others paid that have purchased recently.

What do you consider low miles?

Since you only drive 2-3tm a year why not get a car with slightly higher miles in your price range. These cars are meant to be driven anyways and when you sell it lateron the mileage should still be within reasonale medium range.

Personally, I would rather buy a car that was regularly used and serviced than some car that sat weeks or months on end or was taken out for short trips down to the ice cream shop.

Agree with cool flash on the mileage issue. If you're not going to drive it much the miles will catch up to you by the time you sell it. About a year ago I bought a really well equipped 09 6 speed with about 26 K, which was reflected in my mid 80's price paid for a CPO car. It now has over 30K and I suspect I'll drive it about 3K a year. I love the car but I'm kind of **** about caring for my cars and I have a new DD plus two other special interest cars, so each one doesn't get driven that much. I would definitely consider a higher mile example if it's been well cared for, especially given your desired price range.

Not at all opposes to a car in the 20k mileage range but that would be the high end I would be looking at. Wish I could drive it more but I have a company vehicle I have to drive most days to work, but whatever I get will be driven in a very spirited matter every weekend, and tracked several times a year. It is not the mechanical end of things that bother me with higher mileage cars it more the appearance issue that come with miles, I guess I am more than little OCD with my weekend cars.

I just picked up a nicely optioned 2011 997.2 TTS Cab in excellent condition for $105 with no warranty with 20K miles if that helps you. I had been searching 2 months.

I also considered waiting for the new ZO6 convertible.

Congrats on the new ride seems like a sold deal, warranty for me is not a concern because I would more then likely void the power train warranty with mods in the first few months.

I have been curious it does not seem like the S model commands a great deal of premium over the price of the standard turbo considering the additional cost when purchased new.

2010 Turbo PDK in the classified section for $81k stock or $90k with some tasteful mods. None of these are investments. People who are trying to get $125k will continue to try. But there is enough available for prices to continue to drop.

The 2011 S model comes standard with PDK, PCCB, and sport adaptive seats and a little more HP. By the time you add these to the standard turbo, you end up close to to price of the S.

I bought my 2011 Turbo PDK this June for $98k with only 24k miles on the clock. Had all the good options too. Was on a dealer lot for 3 - 4 months. Originally wanted $128k for it, but lowered their price to 105k. I offered 98k and they accepted.

IMO the 997.2 turbo doesnt offer anything that the 991 doesnt do better (unless you want a manual). Obviously some prefer the styling but as with most cars, newer gen is usually better. I guess what im trying to say is prices will continue to drop and im seeing them pop up regularly under 100k now.

The 997.2 GT3 on the other hand may be harder to get deals on since the new one has ditched the manual and mezger. But im no expert just a normal for guy.

Yogi are you saying that a regular no turbo 991 does everything better than a 997.2 turbo? Have you driven a turbo to feel the power difference?

No i was talking about 991 turbo

Basically im saying the 997.2 tt will depreciate more as more 991 turbos hit the market
