Time for new tires !
Time for new tires !
Hi All !
I Have 997.1TT and I'm planning to replace my tires very soon (Last time I replaced them was on 2012 LOL!)
My car has only 30K Miles on it since 2008 so its kind of weekend drive. Anyways, im taking it to the track next week so I have to change the tires what do you recommend as per you experience ?
I live in Kuwait so in summer the temp. reaches 120F easily ! and the car is not moving most of the time, so I need a tires that handles the heat, don't get flat quickly (because of not moving) and its good for regular drive and for track
PS. I go to the track like once a year only so I don't really need a high performance-track tires.
Your input is appreciated and thanks in advance !

Based on Tire Racks ratings, Michelin Pilot Super Sport is what I plan to put on my 997.2TTS:http://www.tirerack.com/tires/tests/...y.jsp?ttid=162
Marhaba Faisal,
I lived in Al-Jubail, KSA, so u understand what you're talking about when you say hot - 130f and 90% humidity in Sept. for a few weeks. The rest of the year is very nice, however. After gobbling several sets of Pilot Sport Cups, I topped on a set of the new Pilot Super Sports. They are better than the Sport Cups nearly all the time. They don't have to be hit to get good bite, they are grippy all the time, they don't slap when crossing expansion joints, they give a nice breakaway and controlled slide, are quiet, last much longer, and cost less. Not that it matters in the ME, but they are good in rain too. Ma'sallama!

I installed mpss today and went on a 100ml..tear....tires no doubt are every bit what they say..but the character I like the most is that they give up lots of slip which you can keep there..great fun tire..that you can kick the tail out with out worry....awesome....

MPSS are best bang for you buck dual purpose tire that can handle its own on the track.
Given your typical ambinent temps watch tire pressure closely. These tires heat up quickly and do get greasy on the track.
Otherwise you just cant beat them for the price.
