Hey guys, does anyone in the Dallas area have suggestions on where to get springs installed on a 997.1 turbo?

I called Porsche of Plano and they want $1700 for just the install and alignment. Park Place is much less, $1500 for install with alignment but also including H&R springs. RAC/Nine-Eleven Automotive haven't got back to me yet. Not sure if there are any other shops?

My preference is to do it myself but I haven't been able to find a good how-to. The one in the DIY thread is missing pictures. Anyone in the area with experience want to pm me and give me some details? If someone can help, I wouldn't mind taking new pictures of the process and posting an updated DIY with pics.

I Just installed my springs this last weekend on my car. I am not local to you, but I would be more then happy to talk with you.

 

mach1- you will find a wide range of prices on these things.. from ridiculous ($1700 for a spring install) to only sort of ridiculous

Seems pretty easy.

A basic shop could do it. Just call around and see.

Try Ed mullenix from Pca he had the lowest price for clutch install around.

Rac was well priced too.

Try fix n go in plano.

 

Auto Hans in Addison. Ask for Alex. Installed my Eibachs when I owned a 997. May have to have the alignment done elsewhere. I think I went to RAC for that.

 

RAC Performance in Carrollton - this is the former RUF Automotive.

 

The install is not all that hard. Took me 8 hours on my 997 Cab. Only special tool was a spring compressor.
