Fault Code 5604, Why???

2011 Turbo S, Softronic Tune. Every time the gas tank goes under 1/2 I get Fault code 5604. Every once in a while I also get 5504 and 7501. Replaced gas cap just in case but nothing. Any ideas?? Thanks
Jay

No never. I erase the code every gas tank and stays away til it goes under half.

Looks like Durametric has the codes messed up...should be P0456, P0455 and P0175.

P0456 Fuel Tank Ventilation System (Minor leak) - Below Limit
Possible fault cause
- Tank cap seal
- One or several leaks in fuel tank ventilation system

P0455 Evaporative Emission System Leak Detected (large leak)
Possible cause of fault
- Tank cap not tightened correctly, faulty or missing
- Mechanical fault in EVAP canister purge valve (does not close fully)
- Leakage diagnosis pump leaking internally (membrane) or externally
- Mechanical fault in EVAP canister shutoff valve (does not close fully when power is supplied)
- EVAP canister shutoff valve connections leaking
- Tank system (including pipes) leaking

Check the o-ring on the gas cap too.
In a few rare cases the EVAP canister purge valve cracks or leaks.

P0175
Oxygen Sensing Adaptation, Idle Range, Bank 2 Below Limit
Possible fault cause
Incorrect signal from MAF sensor
Fuel pressure too high
Fuel injector leaking
EVAP canister purge valve open

Diagnosis/Troubleshooting
If DTC P0445 (fuel tank vent valve - short to ground) is stored, correct this fault first. An open EVAP canister purge valve can lead to the lean threshold being reached.
For vehicles in the USA, the upper load range will probably not be reached. The only case in which a fault could be stored is during driving while towing a trailer or caravan on a hill.
Contrary adaptation values in connection with misfiring point to incorrectly adjusted control timescheck control times and adjust if necessary.
If the fuel tank reserve light is switched on, no fault is entered.

Check signal from MAF sensor.
Connect special tool 9637.
Measure voltage at pin III/23 and ground
Switch on the ignition. 0.9 to 1.1 V. Replace MAF sensor
Start the engine. Approx. 1.4 V
Check fuel pressure
Check fuel pressure regulator, vacuum connection and fuel return line
Remove vacuum hose from fuel pressure regulator
Connect special tool 9103/2 to vacuum hose
Check the intake air system for leaks and check vacuum line to fuel pressure regulator for restrictions.
Check housing of fuel pressure regulator for damage and deformation
Replace the fuel pressure regulator if it is damaged with the result that the
spring pre-tensioning is increased
Check EVAP canister purge valve
Disconnect hose from EVAP canister purge valve to intake system at EVAP canister purge valve

The common denominator seems to point to the EVAP canister......

One of the major flaws with Durametric...There code transposes numbers on quite a few codes.

For example there is a huge difference between checking the throttle body (code that comes up P2100), and needing an $8000 cam replacement P0021!

Good luck,
DC

Yup! I had this same problem diagnosing the current problem on my car. Code shows up as 7313 on Durametric but it's really P1373. They are reversing the two bytes on accident for 997.2 cars is what they told me. They sent me a patch to test a partial fix (which worked) and they were supposed to release a new update but that has not happened yet (been about 4 months). The descriptions seem to be correct though. Just the display of the code is wrong.

I bought the professional cable too...And I have not been impressed with their support, or responsiveness.

If I get an answer at all (rare) to my questions, it is usually something like "Hmmm... That is odd. Not sure why, or not sure how to do that?".

Very helpful...NOT. They have actually NEVER answered a single question with anything useful or correct that I have posed to them. In hindsight I am thinking I should have bought one of the used PIWIS systems people have for sale. Oh well...

Where do you get the detailed descriptions once you have the code?

Some of the ones you are seeing on this site are from experts and/or people with access to Porsche or other documentation.

Below are some links that will give you some descent descriptions and ideas:

That was my guess also. If you overfill the gas tank the EVAP cansiter can get gasoline in it, which will start to throw out a bunch of codes. On a motorcycle at lease I can remove that canister and not worry about it.
