BBI Autosport 9A1 DFI engine stroker kit
Hello all,
I was perusing the internet earlier and came across a post by BBI that they just released a 4.0 stroker kit for the DFI 9a1 engine in the 997.2 and 991 turbos. Has anyone else heard about this? I'm surprised there weren't any posts about it on the forums.
For them to invest in that R&D, I would imagine they are also working on solutions for the PDK and Fuel system to complement the stroker kit.
I'd be curious if anyone had additional information.
They have had the 997.2 motor out from a 997.2/918 Edition at their shop for as long as I have been going there (2013). Betim built a PDK as well that he cut open, upgraded the clutches and welded back together maybe 6 months ago or more. That PDK was going to be tested on a customers car and I'm not sure the status of that. Beyond the built motor and PDK there is fueling as you mentioned but also ECU and TCU tuning. So a lot involved. I need to go there and pick up something this week so I can inquire.

There is a decent amount going on with this project. It should be pretty cool! I have been helping with some of this and will be doing the ECU/TCU tuning. Some cool stuff they have come up with for it

Well it has been a long project. That car has been at BBI ever since I first started going there in late 2013 with a goal of a motor and pdk build at maybe 1,000 crank HP. Not sure if the motor is back together and whether the built PDK has been put in a car for testing yet. If Mitch/Cobb is doing the ECU and TCU tunes then he probably knows a lot more about the status of each project.
