Two months man and already got a ticket!!

I was driving the other day, in normal street traffic going maybe 15mph, and I see a cop going the opposite way. After a few blocks in, I look in my rear view mirror to see the cop busting a U turn to go in the same direction as me. At this point im like okay nothing to panic, theres a few cars behind me and the cop was behind them. So Im rolling down a few more blocks and I notice he was still there. Then im like *** it let me make a left somewhere and see what happens.

Few seconds later, bam! the cop also make a left and he's now right directly behind me. At that point I already knew it was a matter of time before those shiny lights turn on and telling me to pull to the side. Which of coarse happens a minute later.

Well turns out I got a ticket for tinted windows. I explained that i just bought the car, showed him the paper work, but the ***** still ticketed me. Thats 100 bucks down the drain for nothing. Thank you so much officer **** face.

So now im going to make plans this weeked to detint my windows, and probably go with a lighter shade, but thats a different story.

Anyways I gotta know, are 997tt ticket magnets??

How long did it take for some of you before you got a ticket? Just curious.

I think they can attract attention - Can't really speak for NY, but in Texas Porsches are fairly common and i have avoided most of that unwanted attention from Johnny law...

I haven't had any trouble at all and i don't even have a front plate which is required here in TX.

Think you may have just caught a guy on a bad day or you were doing something that caught his attention and he felt like knocking you down a peg... sorry about your luck!

I definitely wasnt doing anything to break the law. Infact we were in bumper to bumper traffic.

There are fewer here so i guess it caught his attention.
Cop, "oh look a 911turbo, dont see much of those around here, and look at that, he's got tinted windows, lets get'em"

Likewise, I'm in TX and have never gotten a ticket in any of my P-cars before, let alone even pulled over.. ( 987c cayman, 997s, and 997tt)

Certainly can't say that of my trusty old Saab 900 turbo..

I get pulled over quite often in the white tt, not so much in my silver santa-fe, so yes

Last time it happened, the officer asked "do you know why i stopped you?" I almost said "yes, because I drive a white 911"

I've been pulled over twice, once for speeding on the NJ turnpike which I successfully had dismissed in court and the other time 5 of us (997TT's) were pulled over during a "spirited" run through Bear Mountain...officers gave us a warning!

In my experience cops usually only pull you over if you've done something wrong (it may be minor but it's still wrong). I've got 35% tints on my TTS and I know it's not legal in NJ. I've driven past numerous officers who haven't bothered to pull me over but it only takes one (a strictly 'by-the-book' type or in a bad mood). Either way, I know tints (front seats) are not legal but I did it anyway for privacy reasons and shade/temp control. If I get a ticket for tints, I will likely be pissed but honestly it's my fault not the officer's.
