Lightweight flywheel chatter - Any fixes?

My car came with a lightweight flywheel and I hate the embarrassing racket it makes. Is there any solution for quieting this down?

Anyone found a different fluid that will reduce the noise?

If there is no alternative, anyone know if going back to a stock fw will fix the issue. I know some people have said the noise gets louder with time after LWFW installation so i fear it's done some damage to my transmission. Anyone ever go back to stock? was it silent? Anything better than the stock FW that's quiet?

It won't really ever go away as its not your flywheel that's actually causing the noise. Single mass lightweight flywheels simply expose the noise/harmonics of manual gearboxes that manufacturers hide with dual mass flywheels really well. Raising idle RPM will certainly help as prodigy suggested. You can also try using a bit of a thicker gearbox oil. Raising idle RPM is usually easiest to try first.

Anyone have suggestions for a thicker gearbox oil for 997.1 6 spd?

Automated advertising spam - usually once a day, during the early morning hours, from the UK. Annoying, but the mods usually shut them down and remove.

The only real fix is to replace the flywheel with a stock unit, everything else is a band aid I'm afraid.

What clutch disc do you have? The sprung GT3 4.0 disc is very quiet, hardly any rattle at all. Some of the other discs are much louder. Make sure someone didn't put in a solid disc. My idle RPM has been set at 840. I have a tune to account for a LWFW.
