997 Turbo w/o sport chrono?
I like the Sport Chrono option, but I don't think it's a big deal if the car has a manual transmission. You can always have the car tuned for more performance if you'd like it. In a Tiptronic car or a PDK car, I think it makes a bigger difference.
Without it, the car should be discounted a bit compared to others with the option. With that said, you can always add it later for around $1200 or so. But with a Turbo, there are much better aftermarket tuning options available.
I have exactly what you are talking about. PDK Turbo without Chrono. You don't get LC (Launch Control), but everything else is the same once you have a cobb or some kind of tune.
I am looking to also tweak my 1-2 shift.
The deal with my car was it was crazy low miles and perfect and 15K lower than any other car in the same class. And when I saw Perfect, It is Perfect.

I would not buy one without it. When/if you sell it, you will deal with the same issue then. Like stated above.a huge discount, and may limit your potential buyers..

Drove a friend's car without a sport button (6speed), he is tuned by ruf, and compared to my car (6speed tuned by Emre) his car felt like its stuck in sport mode, didn't like it at all ...
I love the SC, the "overboost" switch

I agree, particularly in a 6MT car, it's nice to be able to de-sensitize the throttle and cush-up the ride for crawling down the crappy LA roads. On my current commute I am often in and out of sport mode and changing DSC mode several times, especially when I take the "scenic route". Sport mode and DSC mode 3 over the mountains and regular mode with DSC 1 or 2 on the PCH and I10 section.
Sport Chrono, all the way.
Car drives like a low rider with class in regards to my H&R lowering springs.
Car is very docile "Cadillac like" with suspension mode off. I can still maintain the sport like throttle response with "sport" on.
I guess this comes down to your intent with your purchase.
