Well the only thing that put me off the Tractive was the lack of an axle lift. If the cost is competitive I'll probably look at it.

Fabulous creation! I wonder if the carbon roof as well as lowering weight also lowers the centre of gravity of the car thus improves handling even further?
I wasn't able to fit the carbon roof, as it was flawed. It didn't fit the car properly so I had to fit a normal OEM roof. But the removal of the roof mechanism weighing 8 kilos and the lighter windows should make a difference.

We actually just posted some teasers on the air lift kit today. We now have it working, but between SEMA and PRI haven't had the time to put proper marketing material together for it. We will be posting more information after the SEMA. We have two options: one for adapting Tractive shocks for compatibility with factory air lift and one that is a complete standalone air lift kit for use with Tractive shocks. Introductory prices are $195.00 and $2,695.00, respectively.

Here's a quick cell phone video produced by the one-and-only Mike Levitas we will be following up with more video, photos, and information after the PRI Trade Show that is next week. If anyone has a keen interest in the system, contact us and we will provide all the info we can at the time. Otherwise, stay tuned!

I did the sunroof delete mod on my car several years ago. Using OEM parts, the swap resulted in a weight savings of 26lbs (11.8Kg). This was on a 996 but the parts are the same as on a 997. The extra 1" of headroom is nice when you wear a helmet.

Very much looking forward to the weight savings #s on the lexan windows as I would like to do this also.

Looking good. Will be interested to see how costs translate when they get to the UK.

The 996 quarter windows weigh 1200g a piece. I didn't weigh my rear window before the reinstall, but it was not heavy either. Weight savings will likely be in the 3-4kg range, max. In my case not enough to warrant the change.
There were numerous things done on the GT2RS that were a bit OTT IMO: the valence below the rear window weighs 570g in steel (w/o paint). The CF piece has to weigh at least half that. It might look cool, but seriously, a weight savings of 250g on a street car? And at a cost of like $850 IIRC?

One of the things I do when I see a GT2RS (only seen two) is tap the rear window to see if it's plastic. That to me tells me it's authentic.

For me it's an exercise in the best replica I can make; to be as authentic as possible. "The difference between something good and something great is attention to detail." - Charles R Swindoll

I know - I was not knocking what you're doing in any way.

Our objectives are slightly different: I am working towards a GT2RS-like car with performance that comes as close to the original as possible. You are striving for the perfect replica. All good. That's why I specifically said 'in my case'. Pwdrhound is at the level of modification where it would make sense.

And, to be fair, 3-4kg is not insignificant. But the lower valance panel under the rear window... that was just a chance to sneak in some more carbon. You could eat 3 slices of bologna less before setting off on a drive and achieve the same result.

I know, I was just pointing out my goals for my car. I am also going to concentrate on power & handling moving forward. I have already done power once but I want to exceed the GT2RS in power terms even though it's just for bragging rights as I hardly test the power I already have.

Much too slowly. Mainly work, but also family, house projects, and travel really got in the way this year. I'd like to try to get it on the road in very early spring. We'll see. Still have plans to drive to the U.K. in it sometime soon...

Weren't you considering a move to Germany?

The decision was made for me, I didn't get the job I'd applied for!
