Help find my late father's 997tt
hey everyone, I am new to this site as I am using it as a means of communication to reach out to the fellow Porsche fans around to see if anyone at all can help me find my late father's 2007 white 997 turbo coupe. it was the last turbo that he owned and was sold at an RM auction in 2008 in Fernandina beach, Florida.
the VIN is "WP0AD29947S784316"
it was last reported on Carfax in 2009 in Wilmington, Delaware
I was wondering if anyone knows of any way I could find this? or possibly the person that owns it. my father's username on here was "Subwaysam"
Hopefully someone can help point me in the right direction because this is truly the one that got away...

its a shot in the dark but you can try dealers in that town and see if the car has been in for service, or get a local dealership to tell you what store has been servicing the car. I doubt they will give you someones personal information but it will be a start
Thank you! I will try tomorrow morning and see how my luck is. This is just something I have been wanting to bring back to the family ever since he passed but now I finally have the financial means of getting it.

So far it's possible the car is either in Wilmington Delaware, or possible somehow back in Germany at some point in 2013.. hope to find out more soon. Thank you to everyone who is wishing me luck! This is a very very important car in my life.
I wish you the best of luck finding it.
Please keep us posted.
thank you for your kind words. I am still awaiting information to see if the vehicle is here in the states or if it did in fact make its way back to Germany. I truly do hope to have it back in the garage where it really belongs soon...
I tried.. the problem is that it drops off the face of the earth after 2009. But after calling around to a couple dealerships supposedly the car made it back to Germany in 2013. But its all possible that someone had it shipped over to drive for a bit and had it shipped back to the U.S. there is a major car collector that lives in the same city in Delaware that the car was re-registered in; I am trying to get into contact with him soon to see if he may have any ideas on its location or if maybe he took purchase of it.
M.Y. A great and very touching story.
A couple of thoughts...When a Porsche is serviced, I believe anywhere in the world, if a P.I.W.I.S. was used by the dealer's service department, that service record is automatically logged by Porsche, at least in the country where the service was performed. If I am wrong on this, someone please let me know. If I'm right, and as your intent here is clearly honorable, then I think you might get a helping hand from,
say, PCNA. If you made it clear to them that you would like only to make your contact
info available to the current owner, you may be happily surprised.
If I'm right about the PIWIS logging deal, then even if the car is in Germany, its presence may be detectable.
Again, great story. Your Dad would be proud.

This is a great insight. If you find the right person at PCNA he will understand the potential of this story for the prestige of the brand and they will help you. They might even produce a commercial based on your story.
