What's a built 3.8ltr motor worth over a stock engine guys?
Consists of
FVD 3.8ltr Mahle pistons and liners,
FVD Carrillo Rods,
FVD Shrick cams,
GT3 RSR oil pump,
All new gaskets, chains etc etc
and coolant housings welded and sharkwerks fix.
Done approx up to 10k miles and never ran over 650ps.

Thinking of selling some of my mods and returning the car as close to stock as possible.

Nah im not keen on JZM to be honest.
So you think my engine is worth £40k?
So if I were to exchange it with a nice stock example how much should I expect on top?
Its got to be cost effective enough so that the guy with the stock engine saves on what the cost is to carry out the mods himself I suppose but far better to buy the whole car as its then still matching numbers.
You're both potentially devaluing your cars by swapping them out from being matching numbers IMO. Better just to swap cars and exchange money on top. No?

The good this is these cars have started to appreciate.

I don't think they pinned the cams as my engine doesn't rev to high.
The oil pump is a definite as more pressure is always a good thing especially when running more power. It's not worth opening the engine up and putting a stock one in is it.
Its interesting FVD and 9e do not pin the cams. Waiting to hear from Emre if he does in his builds.
Spun camshafts seem to be a common issue in US but relatively unheard of in Europe.
So with your FVD shrick cams you car is making good power past 6500rpm when in our stock cars power falls off a cliff if I understand you correctly?

As for the schrick cams you are right but unless you are going bigger turbos it's completely pointless from what I have learnt. I just threw them in as my engine was apart. The limiting factor on our cars is the VTG's and no matter wether you have stock hybrids or gt2 hybrids which are slightly better by 20hp to 30hp they will always get in the way of power as they just get too hot.
Hi buddies,
My oem cams spun and I went with upgraded pinned cams.
The reason was not really the power imho (was about 700-750hp) but the extra responsivity of my engine, it turned the sleeves in the cams.
Once the engine balanced (crankshaft, mobile parts as rods and pistons) and fitted with lfwl and small/light pulley it became extra responsive, no inertia (almost as my tuned zx12r!) and the cams spun quickly.
The rev limit is 7300 and I never shift >7000.
