Missing my 997TT
Missing my 997TT
Sold my 997 Turbo about 8mos ago and have found myself looking through the classifieds on a search for another. I have a 2010 R8 V10 and its a great car but very different from 911. Im missing the rawness of the 911, I found the 911 to be one of the best drivers cars I have owned. I was hesitant to sell it on the day of the sale and should have listened to my gut and kept both the 911 and the R8.
For those of you who are considering selling yours I suggest you hold onto it. These are great cars that offer a timeless driving experience. I hope to be back into one soon.

Turbo will forever be in my garage...it's a awsome beast....type of car that just has serious torque get up and go....best part about it is you can drive it with diffrent styles ...plant your foot down and take off like a space ship...or ease into gas pedal slowly and copy a na feeling performance...just yest after all my mods were done I def layer into it for the thrust fell but love just slight rev maxing to hear the exaust....with the parts available you can make this car anything you want...

I sold my 07 coupe tiptronic and immediately regretted it. I bought a BMW M replacement that never satisfied me so I began searching for an 09 TT 6MT. Found my current TT and bought it. I wouldn't buy another cab so I may eventually replace it with an 09 coupe 6MT or a 2013 TTS PDK. I'm stuck in the 997.1/2 era and will only consider 07's-13's. Not a fan of the 991. Bottom line, if you like and enjoy your current TT don't sell it, you'll regret your decision!

Based on my experience . Regret selling any 911 Turbo. So yes keep yours! :-)
It's safe to say that I will always have a 911 TT in my garage! My current '13 TTS checks so many boxes (rawness, classic look w/ a modern twist, PDK brilliance, visceral when you want it, docile when you don't, throwback interior and many more) that it's definitely a keeper for a while...until the 918 hybrid technology trickles down to the 911 then all bets are off...
Reminds me of a few words from a Joni Mitchell song:
"Don't it always seem to go
That you don't know what you've got
‘Til it's gone..."
The 997s are awesome and they hold their value pretty well, especially with a 6 speed manual and low miles. If you look hard enough, you will be able to find one. Good luck with the hunt!
