I think you are correct about the full mile trap speeds - full mile may be mid 180s for the fastest stock turbo car but with luck I think the magic 200 number shouldn't be too much of an issue for 1.5 miles.

This was the last half mile race of my 997.2 vs Mark. On this exact set up, Mark ran the Mojave Mile in his stock turbo 991 and did 197 mph with a 20 mph headwind. So the 997.2 stock turbo should be quite a bit faster. I presume this is 1.5 miles actually I don't know maybe Mark can chime in on his exact speed / distance.

I'm really confident I could of run a 201 with no head wind. Keep in mind that Mojave is at elevation 2,800 and usually DA is around 4,000.
Also 200mph on radar is no joke only a 1/2 dozen cars ran it on Saturday.
At 190 you hit a wall on a good day's with no wind I think you can break 200 if your fuel system is working 100% maybe 205. Most people have never experienced those speeds and it's awesome. Let's bring our 911's and crush every one else.
Last year with only a Giac stage 2 I ran a 192.8 an F-12 ran a 193 and a 12-Mpc ran a 192.8 both of these cars are top end beast and I keep up with both of them. The day before had a 20mph head wind and a stock 650s ran a 202.0 to show you what a head wind will do for a car. So you never know what your gonna get

Yes, so a couple things my last run was 197.9 with a 20mph head wind I had the fastest stock turbo time a Gtr ran 196 the same day I had issues with adaptive cruise control so I couldn't run on Sunday the Gtr that ran 196 ran a 200 on Sunday with no head wind.

With your current setup you will probably get near 200 in the mile. The last half mile will be to just regulate your speed to make sure you don't go over 205. I presume you will get a vBox to monitor your GPS speed so you don't break out?

^^^ interesting I think the MM must be approx 1.5 miles to be running 197mph so 200mph + entirely possible.
I find soft launching my set up say 4-5 secs to 60mph and then 60-130mph in another 7 secs gets me to circa 186-187mph on the nose at the mile mark by circa 27/28 secs. By 1.5 miles at speed traps I've managed 202mph but may have had a tail wind.
I wonder if there's something in that by not loading the engine hard till about 130mph and then going all out from there onwards. I'm only running 1.3 bar of boost on 66mm GT2 hybrids for reference. Anything more boost than 1.3 bar we get ignition retardation.
I can understand why they want a full cage. A Supra flipped head over heels at one of the events I went to with a rear blow out at 209mph through the traps. Only thing that saved them was their cage and they were air lifted away to hospital with one of the guys having life changing injuries. Cage sensible.

But I will have to re-think 1.5 mile strategy. Certainly no benefit in launching the car hard since it's not a race. Driveline / trans / engine / turbo / exhaust / tire heat is probably much more of a concern and using launch control is going to make things hotter not cooler.
