Is the only reason to get the 7000SLX over the 5000XL version is greater lifting capacity (if you are also using for large SUVs, etc.)?

Yes, although my wifes Cayenne GTS is like 5600lbs and my 5000 QJ lifts it fine.

The SLX version has a different design; however, the number depicts the weight

Nice!! I been thinking about one of these. These reviews make me feel it's a solid choice? Is the 7000SLX the only model on back order?

I got an ez-car lift. http://ezcarlift.com/gallery/porsche/index.php I like that their design locks both sides together. Uses a 1/2 drill to power it.

I believe so. It's the latest model in the line up with beefed up frame. The only reason I went with a 7000 is the SUVs and minivan in the household. The 5000slx is just as good and can also lift many small to mid size SUVs

I looked at that too. I just needed full center access and quickness if hydraulics and able to tuck away from view . I also needed minimum of 5000 lbs capacity

It does give you center access. Once it is in the air you can remove the rear support bar. Nothing can be done about the weight though.
Another nice thing the have magnetic pucks that fit into the jack point locations.

Man those extensions look good enough for an engine drop. Can they also be sued with the 5000?

Update on my pos! I was pulling my wheels to get them powdercoated GTsilver this week. I startef to lower it to the first lock spot when it started falling faster than normal. I let off the button and it went to the ground in his own. Not this pos will not lift my car an inch. Still wondering what the hell im gonna do to get it off the ground. Luckily my rotors did not hit.

Use the Adaptors on a 5000 model? Yes. It's extra while it comes with the 7000 model.

It's probably your motor unit? That's where it release the fluid as well. It's like stuck at open and fluid not stopping? Call bendpack. I know they're good in replacing stuff

Dang, not good. I hope this is just a pump issue (maybe air in-line?) but, what a great time to find out about it. This is why you should jack the wife's car up first!

Was on the fence between this setup and the MaxxJax. Keep us up to date on the resolution to this issue.
