Shift-Sector standing 1/2 Mile 997.1 won the class
Hey guys, had a lot of fun at Shift-Sectors 1/2 mile on Sunday. Car ran great, ended up winning the "exotics" class with minimal effort.
Car was running 160-166mph all day with soft launches, and my shifting wasnt all that smooth, i kind of babied it off the line loosing all boost shifting into 2nd. I also had passengers on both of my 165.9 runs so with a good launch I am sure it had a 167-169 in it. All the cars in my class had launch control and dual clutch trannies so it wasnt ideal off the line for my little 6sp.
Car is a 997.1 6sp, Cobb, 63VTG's, 997.2 IC's, inlets, SRM plenum, GMG headers+exhaust (still has cats).
Running E85 on Dzennos custom tune, right around 21psi.
Here are some of the other class cars with bolt ons behind me
Steven Aghakhani, 2015 McLaren 650s (800HP) 163.280 mph
McLaren MP4-12C 161.987 mph
2014 Porsche Turbo S 161.637 mph
Lamborghini Huracan 160.599 mph
2014 Ferrari F12 159.461 mph
There was also a 918 that ran 168.

Very nice! Without cats you might pick up couple mph and be around 169ish & maybe over 170+ with the addition of serious driving!
Considering your car is a 6spd, you were doing soft launches and not only you in the car, etc, your car should be a killer car from a roll on the streets, as in taking down Dual clutch cars that launch hard & that trap 173+mph fast!
Do you have a thread of your build?
Congrats again!

It was great meeting you! It was so much fun. Don't go blaming Nicole for that 165 tho... she's pretty light
Next time, don't let me win
I put a post together on the 991TT board. I've got a video of the run that my launch control timed out with you, and Nicole has her phone vid of our run that you let me have.

Yes injectors are required for a turbo or e85. He has both. Im guessing just didnt include the injectors as "mods".
Great run, your car was definitely moving! There's an earlier Shift Sector vid on the 991 turbo forum where the Aghakhani McClaren ran 171+ and came second to a Stage 4 ByDesign 991 turbo, surprised to see the same car run 163mph unless conditions were a factor. If that's the case then your car has a 173+mph run in her in its current form. Again, great run!!
Congrats on the win ,you kicked that 12 yr olds *** lol & what about the 918 at 168 he didn't take 1st with that run ,either way nice to know you can keep up with all the current super & hyper cars

Wow that's super quick..I'm starting to think these small explosive quick going turbos are the way to go...what's the max output on a 63 mm fbo car on 93 pump gas....congrats on great run...

50-70 0.9
60-100 2.44
60-130 5.99
At the event it was running 60-130 6.6 - 7.0 but that's with an extra shift (2 shifts) as I wasn't shifting at redline. 6sp gear ratios are too short for good numbers but car pulls hard while in gear.
Dzenno did a great job with the tunning overall, we had some bumps and some issues along the road but after 12+ revisions car is running strong on a safe tune. Dzenno left some more power in it and we dialed the tq down for the rods.
The car has all supporting mods including 1300cc ids and cooler plugs.
It's still impressive that a 10 year old car with just bolt ons and e85 can go and whoop on all exotics in the class and drive back home with no issues. 6sp at that.
Next step would be big ams intercoolers and champion 68s but I don't see the point, maybe gain 30-50hp and another 3-4mph in the 1/4 but the stock rods will become the weakest link.

The 918 wasn't signed up for any class so no win for him.
