This is not accurate as there are no other gears/ratios that can go to the 997 case AFAIK.
996 trans case is weaker and I saw already few upgraded gears/ratios transes with cases that cracked with torque above 850-1000lb.
As far as I know few guys with top tier builds 997 looking for upgraded gears/ratios but noting is in the market yet.

Ari - I just started a 6speed official 1/2 mile list over in the 60-130, 1 mile and 1/4 mile thread. If you have a video or a speed slip from this event it would be great to add it.
