997.1 wanger tuning coolers
Hi all
I'm looking forward to replace the oem intercoolers with aftermarket high performance coolers .
How is the wanger tunning intercoolers?
How much can they hold hp ?
Any idea for other intercoolers?
Thanx

Wagner is a new player here. I have their Evo 2 in my daily driver 335is and it is considered one of the best available for the N54 market. To my knowledge there haven't been any objective Wagner tests on the 997.1, but I think they make a great product and Sam certainly won't steer you wrong.

Cheers guys. All the listed are pretty great options each in their own right. The new Wagner EVO2's are tube fin like the .2's only HUGE to open up flow! This makes things interesting as they are quite light and recover nicely!

Tube and fin coolers are denser in design and will never flow as well as quality made bar n plates.
The reason they recover fast is because they have a lot less mass to cool off...
There are bar n plate cores that also are denser for superior cooling and offer considerably better flow over tube and fin... I made my first set of 4.5's over 11 years ago- I know who's who in the cooling game
There are vendors here that make quality coolers, the only difference is that they are made in the US

The wagner 5.7" evo2 coolers are the only coolers worth considering IMO. The carbon shrouds they come with ensure proper flow and maximum cooling. My 996T made significant gains just my installing theses coolers which upgraded from wagners evo1.
