6speed Official 1/2 Mile list

1/2 Mile events are popping up all over the country and are becoming very popular. There have been numerous requests over the past several years to add a 1/2 mile list to our already existing performance archive thread in the 996TT section of the forum. Given that this is a new list that I started we will accept VBox run files that will have to verified and converted to Texas Mile style trap speed for this list, we will also accept speed slips with media proof from events ( picture or video of the car). VBox has proven itself to very accurate and is probably more accurate than 90% of the timing equipment used at the events.

https://www.6speedonline.com/forums/...le-thread.html

Here is what we have so far.

202.9 - Mcoupe mus / 997TT / AWD / PTE6870s / Syvecs / 1250+ WHP / Sequential
196.3 - Enzo / 997TT / AWD / GT35s / SYVECS / 1200+ WHP / 6 speed
192.5 - Tim941NYC / 996TT / AWD / GT35s / MOTEC / 1360 WHP / 6 speed
191.7 - BHT / 996TT / RWD / GT35s / STOCK ECU PROTO/ 1000+ WHP / 6 speed
186.0 - MCGT3 / 996TT / RWD / GT35s / STOCK ECU PROTO/ 1000+ WHP / 6 speed
182.1 - 9ff / 997TT / 1400hp

Feel free to submit your 1/2 mile times in that format and I will add them to the list.

I have been always doing by myself with vbox. 1 mile is a bit dangerous but 1/2 mile is manageable.

I will share my results from different cars

Very cool prodigy thanks. How about adding 1/2 mile ET as well? Some of us at half mile events could care less about our trap speed...we just want to win the race and set up our cars accordingly. Plus I think it's an eventuality at these events.

I know a lot of people are more interested in a trap speed number but it gets interesting when one trapping 160mph beats the other one going 200. This is possible because the 1/2 mile event launch surfaces are usually pretty sh*t.

Agreed but the vBox gives 1/2 mile ET just like it gives 1/2 mile trap speed.

1/2 mile is more of a landspeed record type of thing like 1 mile where I think the ET is less relevant. a lot of events don't give you ET or its not accurate, with vbox its also a matter of one foot roll out vs not..... its just not something we want to deal with as it isn't widely accepted as a measure of anything.

I am actually really tempted making this list a 2 measure list where you must have vbox data to accompany the slip .... I am not sure about this. maybe some will say VBOXVERIFIED

Can anyone please post a quick short guide on setting the vbox to get this measurement?

Would love to share.

Actually the 1/2 mile events here in the US and around the world are mostly all races from what I've gathered. Two cars line up and race. Winner crosses the finish line first so ET matters. Longer 1 mile + events like Mojave Mile are mostly all solo passes with the exception of VMax at 1.3 miles is also a dig race.

The grandfather of these 1/2 mile events is Moscow Unlimited. They have ETs just like an NHRA drag strip...just longer than 1/4 mile.

Even here in the US where these events began (from Shift Sector) originating as roll races have eventually migrated to standing start measured 1/2 mike races starting from an arm drop or a tree mechanism like at a drag strip and usually a trap speed is provided. I don't know of any US company doing 1/2 mile ETs yet but I know some are working on it. So maybe it's too early to start a 1/2 mile ET list but one day it will be relevant. Oh and 1-foot rollout is the default for the vbox 1/2 mile ET just like it is at an NHRA 1/4 mile drag strip.

Actually the company that does our local events here has ET for half mile but I am still sticking to ET for 1/4 mile and for 60-130.
