OEM or "OEM" O2 Sensors
SubscribeSo let's talk parts.
As some of you are aware, my $400 exhaust job, has now basically turned into a $2500-$3000 job.
The bolts ended up snapping the turbo housing studs and they need to drill out/re-thread/replace the studs.
Over the weekend, they soaked the O2 sensors in penetrating oil and the threads are damaged beyond use.
I've been quoted $772 for 4 new Porsche OEM O2 sensors. I started doing some searches and I keep coming across this "Bosch 17307".
In summary from what I've read, they are shorter length than the OEM ones, but they work.
Wanted to see if there are any others who have used them
$772 for Porsche OEM
$330 for "Porsche OEM"

I don't have experience with those o2 sensors. A shorter sensor should not cause any issues, as long as the wire isn't shorter.
I use spacers, so mine aren't even inside the exhaust.

The wire on the bosch is shorter. I sucked it up and bought the ones in the porsche box from Sonnen or sunset. I think the bosch ones will work, but may be very tight. I was hoping they have updated the part.
On the rear 02s, I'm confident the bosch ones will be fine. I bought a set for $100, which is far lower than the porsche-box ones.

Anyone else have experience running these? $400 is a lot to save on for O2 sensors. Perhaps I buy the OEM for the pre-cat and the Bosch for post-cat since they are only there to tell if the cat is functioning (right?). Plus, my exhaust is catless, so those will be turned off anyway.
EDIT: I just told them to order the OEM ones. It is a bullet to bite, but I want to get it done right so I can avoid any further problems.

Thanks for the info!
If it's not too late, buy the oem parts from one of the site sponsors here such as ECS, PelicanParts etc... Waaaaay cheaper than from the dealer. I bought a set last year from ECS.
I got the Bosch from pelican, worked perfectly, waaaaaay cheaper too.
