You have shifter paddles on the steering wheel?
#242
yeah I got a 991.1TTS wheel at first which had paddles and I was going to remove them. that proved to be difficult so then I was going to use one for rolling antilag, then decided to just sell it and buy a 991.2 GT4 wheel without paddles which I like more anyway.

Here's a little update, I was working fast and furious on the plans for the car last month but some real life unpleasantness got in the way. My father has been in the hospital with pnuemonia (love you pop!) so I put the project on the back burner and went home to visit him in the hospital and help with family responsibilities. After getting back to Texas recently I have been pretty buried, so I haven't made a whole lot of progress lately but it is coming.
I was going to post something more dramatic, but the car did manage to win the 6-speed class on Saturday at the Pike's Peak Airstrip Attack in June. I have some pictures and video. Some of you have probably seen it if you follow me on Facebooks or Instagram. I'll post some pictures and more info soon.
I managed to pick up a huge nail in one of my rear R888R tires . So this week my car time is being burned by getting that sorted. I have it plugged/patched for now but for some reason trying to go 200mph+ on a compromised tire sounds like a bad time. I love taking people out in the car that have never been in anything "fast". They tell you about the "600hp" car they once rode in and talk about how it bends space and time, then I get to scare them on a whole new level. It's fun . However picking up nails in super soft rubber isn't any fun at all. The rumor mill also states that there is some new Syvecs firmware coming from Wayne to improve traction control and launching. I'm pretty excited about that, I'd love to get my car out at the drag strip. Truth be told I'm kind of a weenie, I don't want my ~200k car to meet an unfortunate end because some kid in a Camaro goes sideways. That's why I prefer events like Texas Invitational and half mile racing, the runway is a lot wider and there aren't concrete barriers on either side if you do manage to have issues.
MarkyMark is correct, larger turbos are in the works. I almost got convinced to do an 82lbs/min compressor and a big turbine but reality set in as I was evaluating that against the goals and mission of the car. Suffice to say, there are new parts coming but I can't reveal all the details yet (because I don't know them!). They will have bigger compressor wheels, larger internally gated housings, and a different turbine wheel. Working out all the details now. I'm also going to be moving the turbos back towards the rear of the car a little which will require new headers. Chris @ Unobtainium is on the job to build me a new set. This is to make more room for intake piping for the new turbos, and will require some additional modifications to my exhaust to get everything to fit correctly. The Motec C127 dash is going in at the same time, and potentially a few other things. I'd like to do some air/water intercoolers, but that probably won't happen until the end of the season, or next depending on funds. I feel like I'm on the edge of the power level that air/air intercoolers can support, and I'm also on the edge of the power level where the car is fun. Go too far, and the car spools like a sea turtle with a tendency to break. Looking for that balance (again) with some new turbo technology. Everyone should keep their eyes on Xona Rotor, lots of cool stuff coming soon. As far as performance goes, the 6-speed 911 Turbo 1/2 mile record was just reset at 203mph this weekend at Airstrip Attack Indianapolis, so I'll be looking to be in that ballpark.
If anyone is interested in purchasing the headers on my car when the new ones are ready send me a PM. They are setup for stock location, pictured in this thread and are beautiful.

Also, sad to admit but I actually want to swap out the steering wheel on my car. There has been some stuff on eBay for years, but it all disappeared. Does anyone know the most cost effective way to do a 2011 GT2RS style (red alcantara) steering wheel setup now?
#251
I'd probably do a recovered OEM wheel if that was the direction to go. Starting to think I was nuts last night though.
#252
are you planning on going to NOLA?

If I can get things done in time I'm planning on going. Turbo swap looks like its happening for a little extra oomph to get over 200. It may very well have it now, but want to be (relatively) sure.

awesome - i'm hoping to make it down there as well.

How are things looking? The Dallas half mile is now back on in November, I'm thinking about pushing so I can get some more thing done. I also heard some rumors that the surface isn't very smooth in New Orleans which is making me nervous.
