pc620 is infamous around these parts
sounds similar to turbo valve actuating - though I am not 100% sure.

Does it make the same noise when turning the key all the way clockwise but don't start the car then turn the key all the way counterclock-wise after 20-30 seconds?

When I performed the step above, I could hear the noise from the turbo valve actuating when I turned the key back. Just to isolate the turbo valve actuator noise from other engine noise.

Hope someone can chime in with more input.

Thanks for the feedback. Tech at the dealer thinks it's the throttle body so I'm taking it in next week for a removal and disassemble and check. AWE tells me it's a 997 GT3 throttle body they use for the 750R kit that is on the car.

Well it finally gave out! I started the car and it began to run very rough with idle jumping all around the place and car shaking some. Pulled these codes:

PO638: Throttle actuator control range/performance bank 1

P2080: Exhaust gas temp sens circ range/perf bank1 and sens 1

P2082: same as above but bank 2 sens 1

Had to have the car towed to dealer so hoping I don't get hit with a huge repair bill.

Thanks,

Tom
