Exhaust system upgrade. Base and crackle NOT overly loud

TT as we know have a more muffled stock exhaust note than some of the NA howlers.

Many threads on how to make this loud, and much discussion about performance gains etc.

Looking for a setup that has more grumble and crackle but NOT (super) loud. 997.2 but also 991.1 question. Not looking to wake up the neighborhood but feel the engine and exhaust note a bit more than stock, particularly as gears shifts and revs come in.
Not in California.

Any setups that have worked for you?

After my extensive investigation of hundreds of posts on line it seems as if Europipe has the highest over all satisfaction ratings among users

It is priced a bit higher than some other options - but it seems to have superior quality high flow cats and build quality

I would do a search and read all the reviews on all the units and see how the end users have commented on their satisfaction - fit and long term experience

Finally I not that I contacted the owner Stef at Europipe and he is a real car guy and knows his stuff

I absolutely could not be happier with the Kline setup I have on my 991.2 Turbo S. It is perfect. Quiet at low loads with zero drone. Exotic sounding like these cars should be at wide open throttle.

A lot of people like the Kline system as well but through my examination it seems like the weld quality and build is just but quite on the same level as the Europipe

Also - it would seem that they do not use as high a quality 100 CEL Cat as the Europipe and it seems as if extenders are often needed to avoid CEL's which to me is a sure sign that the materials employed in their 100 CEL Cats are are not a high quality as the Europipe which seem to have no reported CEL issues

In the end I believe it is the case that you get what you pay for

One advantage the Kline seems to have is lighter weight

There is certainly a lot of passion in the subject of exhausts for these fine 10 year old machines which I think is great

There are a lot of options out there

My top two based upon my own independent investigation is Europipe and Kine based upon the reviews by actual customers I have read on this and other forms

While I respect and appreciate the input of vendors who are dedicated to their craft to me nothing speaks better than a actual happy customer who took the time to post a video or a post about their own experience

As I have said - I have seen a LOT of threads about people who took Tubi units off cars and got another expensive unit in its place - maybe this is because Tubi was the most popular unit back in the day? Still I am not confident after hearing so many bad reviews

The end users who have spoken about Europipe and Kline seem very satisfied

My own examination shows two units built at different price points and build quality

For example - just look at the hardware on the exhaust strap on both units. Night and day. Although not a huge difference it is indicative of the extra work and attention to detail that goes into the europipe.

At the end of the day the best performing exhaust on a turbo car is a short 3" tube on each side pointed backwards - anything beyond that adds bends, flow restrictions and backpressure. Obviously most of us are using these fine cars not as drag racing but as street driven road cars and for that reason we seek a higher level of performance along with a more sporty sound while limiting it to level that is not going to draw attention from every Police Officer who is in the vicinity. At the same time if you want to avoid the fumes and smells that go along with unburnt fuels that run without a cat you will want a system with good quality cats

I think either unit would be a great choice

To me I lean towards the Europipe as from the pictures it seems like a higher quality design and build execution almost like artwork the craftsmanship that goes into its build

Those on a budget looking to get the best value of the ability to run varying configurations would prefer Kline

Now that we've settled the quality debate, can we get feedback / actual owner views on how LOUD and preferably not these alternatives exhaust notes/setups are.

Not sure what part of CT you live in but you are welcome to come by and listen to my set up after I get it installed to see how it suits you

One thing for sure is that I have found you tube videos next to useless in being able to tell the difference between one exhaust to the other

Obviously I am looking for something that gives more power (something I can measure); much more performance sound on WOT and is not too obnoxious on easy cruising

The Turbo is a great car but seriously stock it sounds like a vacuum cleaner

I am in Greenwich area

I was in your situation about 4 years ago and drove myself nuts looking at reviews and youtube clips. Finally settled on Cargraphics supersound with the integrated flaps and am still happy.

The final choice was between CG and Europipe. The selling point for me was the remote controlled flaps which basically makes it a 2-in-1 system. The "quiet mode" (not so quiet since I went with the Supersound version) sounds refined on low revs with a nice growl that builds progressively to an angry roar with increasing engine speed. The open flap mode is just nasty with crackles, pops and turbo whoosh galore There is an EXTENSIVE review on this system here somewhere if you want to read more. The sound in the vids doesn't convey the cabin sounds which are the coolest feature of the open flap-mode but still. The best thing of course is to listen to all your options IRL otherwise you're basically relying on second-hand information. In my case that wasn't possible.

Oh and no affiliations what-so-ever, just a happy customer.

Thank you. Was looking for an on/off solution akin to PSE. Very glad you took the time to write this.

I have had Kline installed on my 997.1 for almost 4 years and could not be more happy.
Quality, performance and sound. When these attributes are combined with the outstanding customer service provided by SamboTT, you have a system that, in my opinion, is second to none.
