Advice / Help Requested - getting OEM tips to fit over aftermaket exhuast
I am making progress on my exhaust install
Wanted to know if anyone has any ideas on how to make the OEM tips fit easier onto a slightly .5 mm bigger aftermarket exhaust tube?
The factory pipe OD is about 59.33 - 59.40 mm
The O.D. on the aftermarket system is just a hair over 60mm - measured at 60.20- 60.22 mm
I have tried to expand out the OEM flange as far as it can go. I got one side on by using this method and banging it on with a rubber mallet
The other side does not want to go on not matter how many times I have tried
Looking for some insight / direction from someone who may have been down this road before and see if anyone has any ideas on the best way to get some extra space out of the OEM tip clamp to get it to fit
Thanks for the assistance

Found my own solution in case anyone else is faced with this situation
I did 3 things
1. I ran a die grinder with a sanding stone around the lip of the pipe all around the lip and brought the OD down by .25 mm
2. I heated up the collar on the factory tip with my torch and got it red hot giving it a bit of expansion
3. I poured ice cold water on the stainless pipe of the aftermarket exhaust to make it shrink a bit
With this the OEM tip slid on like a fine tailored suit
Ready to get the rest of the car back together and continue the madness
