Engine mounts....

I was just browsing my parts katalog pdf looking for new OEM mounts for my 997.1 turbo. The pdf also includes 997.1 GT2 parts.

I noticed there is a part number for the turbo's engine mounts (997.375.049.06) and one for the GT2 (997.375.049.91)

I don't think the 997.1 GT2 had active mounts, so does anyone know if it is by chance a beefier mount that i can use on my turbo?

I think the 997.2 GT3 had active mounts, but there's a whole system behind them.

Most people, including me, use RSS motor mounts. They do tend to sit the exhaust higher by 1/8th inch or so, but don't increase MVH much. I THINK these oem mounts are a middleground between the OEM and RSS mounts: http://www.patrickmotorsports.com/pa...sport-964-993/

Those are the 964 RS mounts. This part number seems to be a 997 era part number so to speak. The active mounts made their debut in the 2010 GT3, and this catalog I am looking at only covers models 2007-2009. I am assuming the mounts are GT2 (not RS) but more importantly not active mounts, which means I should be able to use them on the turbo.

I am going to order them and compare them to my stock ones.

Did they fix the issue where people's exhaust sat higher after install of the RSS mounts?

I have the Wevo mounts and am aware of no height/install issues with those. I had an EP2 installed (and a bunch of other stuff at the same time) and it all lined-up perfectly. Although if only 1/8" I'm not sure I would have noticed; if the EP2 started burning-up my rear bumper, then I would notice.

I'm running the RSS mounts, really happy with them.

However I installed both the engine mounts and tiptronic transmission mounts and have a slight increased vibration in the steering wheel, I think its most probably from the trans mounts.

Goodluck

I ordered the GT2 mounts mentioned above. Both the lead tech I was working with and the parts guy had never seen one ordered before. I will post pics and comment on feel once installed. My stock units were shot anyways.

As per the trans mount, I just bought a new oem unit. Figured after 10y of use...it should prob be swapped out as well.

I got these:
http://www.carnewal.com/products/996...ts-for-996-997

Not sure if they are the same as 964RS/GT2? They are fine, a bit more engine sound in the cockpit.

Yes those are the 964RS mounts. Good choice!
