Is there anyway to check the oil manually on a 997tt?

Is there anyway to check the oil manually on a 997tt?

My lcd center display went out just recently & I just realized
i have no way to check my oil level.
Any help would be appreciated, thanks in advance

Nope. And what really stinks is if the oil level sensor goes out like mine did and it costs almost $500 to replace. Argh.....

yes you can do the GT3 cup oil dipstick conversion.

Correct, then once measured you can filter using a old sock and reinstall into your soon to be junk Mezger Motor...

This goes to an old adage I use frequently in the IT world: "Just because something can be automated doesn't mean it should be."

Was removing the dipstick really contributing anything to the design and functionality of the 997, other than adding an outrageously high cost to allow the car to measure oil (arguably the MOST important measurement) upon failure of the sensor?
