In the market for a 07-08 turbo and wanted to know what’s the price difference between auto and manual, everything else being equal (miles, year etc). For example a 2007 w 40k miles. TIA.
2009 has the 997.2(2009-2012) insides with more modern PCM, hvac, electronics, etc. My hands free phone works well. It was the last year for a Metzger and very few manual transmissions were made for 997.2 so they are pricier.
From what I've seen, it's about a 10-15k difference to get the manual. Just more in demand. If you're ok with an auto, there are lots of deals out there.
I have a 2008 997.1 TT with the "TIP". Im pretty heavy with track events, 5 this year. Although split up between my 911 and Miata NA.
I chose the "TIP" because my wife likes to drive a sports car to her office in Silicon Valley on occasion. But now, with COVID she never drives it. But that doesn't stop me from really enjoying the car. True, its not as "engaging" as a manual. And its certainly not as quick at the current PDK automatics. But it really is pretty good. The car has so much torque that if I leave it in Drive (not Manual Drive) it learns the driving patterns and shifts really well between 2nd and 4th knowing when to shift when I brake.
On the track, the Miata is a blast because of its lightweight and because it a manual. But the Porsche TT is super relaxing to drive fast. No shifting. Just drive and learn. Its hell fast and not lacking for an HPDE.
As for experience, ive been attending HPDE since 1998. This is only my 2nd automatic on a road course. To compare, I also had a 2013 Mercedes Benz C63-P31 AMG. The Mercedes TIP is so much better that the 911. The difference that 5 years makes is phenomenal!
I also saved a lot of money getting the TIP. I paid $55k for my 997.1 with 46K miles. I don't regret the choice. Turned 50k miles this weekend!

ahh that’s a rare car. I recently traded my 09 C2S 6spd cab in Nordic Gold for my current Arctic Silver 2009 Turbo Cab 6spd but would love to find an 09 Turbo cab in Nordic one day.

Yeah they didn’t make too many of em.. loved that car, I tried to buy it back once years ago but was unsuccessful.. last I saw it was in Chicago.

Sorry to but in but I agree with the comment about the Merc Tip behaving better than the 911. I had an 03 SL55 AMG and the tip box was superb.
I've installed a Sprint Booster in the 911 and it really improves the driveability imo.

The ones on the Turbo are like those of the V12 engine Mercedes, they can take a high torque and are phenomenal for spiritual drive. The C63 ones are 7 speed AFAIK, so they drive differently.
