Windshield Replacement issues

Has anyone heard of issues when replacing the front windshield? I was getting mine replaced not because it has a crack or chip but because it full of specs. The shop has been unable to successfully install it due to fitment issues with 3 OEM windshields ordered from the dealership. Oddly enough, they test fitted an aftermarket one and it fits perfectly.

I took a rock hit while waiting to turn into Laguna Seca...replaced with oem no problem. Do you know the history of your car? Has it ever been tweaked?

I would go visit the shop and see the fitment issues first hand.

My previous 911 had the windshield replaced 3 times in 3 years. 2 were aftermarket and one was OEM. All were fine with no installation issues.

Yes, the car has never been raced or in any accidents. The shop says they examined it and doesn't appear to have structural issues.

I had mine replaced and had to bring it back 3 times to get it right. The problem was with the installer and not the OEM windshield. The local Porsche dealer recommended them. They didn’t have experience with this model Porsche. Ask your installer if they have replaced a windshield on a 997.2 before.
