997.2 Spoiler Failure

Hello,

I own a 2011 997.2 turbo s with 30k miles on it and have recently run into an issue with my spoiler where I get the spoiler failure message at 75mph but the spoiler seems to function fine using the button. I have done some reading and since there are no hydraulic problems, I’ve come to the sense that the issue is electrical, can anyone kindly guide me to diagnose the problem?

My thoughts are it’s a problem with the micro switch or a relay.

Do you get the failure warning when operating the spoiler with the switch and car stationary?

Same with my 997.2 Turbo. It's intermittent and is "fixed" by power cycling the car. I get a warning the first time it deploys and I then drop below ~74 mph and then every time I pass ~74 mph up or down. No hydraulic leaks so seems to be a switch or sensor somewhere. I've not been able to find a good troubleshooting process and it's infrequent enough that I'm choosing to ignore it mostly.

Most likely the microswitches, passenger side ram. Could be that you have lost fluid as well. Multiple seep points.

My 997.1 Turbo was doing the same thing periodically. I cleaned and lubricated the rams with WD40 and problem went away… for now.
