steering wheel upgrade wiring loom ?
I have a 9YO wheel which is 991.2/cayenne etc rather than the usual 95B wheel for swapping out with the main difference being the loom connector is different yellow/Orange can anyone tell me if this is just a case of fitting the loom from the 95B or are the modules also different its a multifunction wheel if that helps.

it’s not just a simple loom swap. The yellow vs orange connector usually means a different airbag/wheel generation, and Porsche changed the wiring pinouts and control modules between the 991.2/early Cayenne wheels and the 95B setup. You can physically fit the wheel, but the multifunction buttons and airbag won’t work correctly unless the wheel electronics (and sometimes the steering wheel control module) match the vehicle. Most people who’ve done this successfully either swap the entire correct 95B wheel with matching airbag and loom, or re-pin the harness and code it with PIWIS. I’d strongly recommend confirming part numbers and airbag compatibility before attempting it.
You'll need a harness with CANBUS to keep the steering wheel active, otherwise the headunit won't recognize the buttons. You will also need to connect a small cable, usually green and green w/black stripe or a specific jack, to provide CANBUS signals. Check the manual, it should have the connecting details.
