WTF? $4075 for euro delivery???

The PCNA car configurator has Euro delivery listed at $4075.

First, most German automakers offer Euro delivery for free and even discount some cars.

Now Porsche charges even more than usual for Euro delivery of a 997TT than a 997S? This is profit grubbing that is over the top, IMHO.

I was a little bit surprised at the cost of their Euro delivery but I guess it makes sense especially when you have to consider the fact that Porsche has to pay quite a bit to insure the car for you. I still however think that for that price, they should have at least included lodging and food. Personally, I wouldn't do it though.

Every option on a Porsche is overpriced -- and people pay for em. For that price, they will get plenty of takers. Sucks, but they know people will pay.

After just getting back from Euro delivery on our CLS, I can honestly say that I would pay the $4k to take delivery from the factory. We toured the Porsche factory as well, and seeing how the engines and cars are put together is quite impressive. Then driving out of the factory on to the Autobahn and all through out Europe was a amazing experience. Now of course MBZ gave us a 7% discount, as well as one night hotel stay, and no destination charge on car worth $765. Also keep in mind if you were to rent a car like that it would cost you at least $3-4K a week if they were available. Anyway for anyone that missed my long old post on Euro delivery check it out here..

For sure $4k is a lot of money but considering getting a Porsche I'd have done it! That's once in life...so...

Interesting. It's free on the Canadian configurator.

Thanks for your writeup and pics again. They were great and got me all excited over taking Euro delivery again.

But the whole $4k price tag is leaving a sour taste in my mouth when compared to the fact that your MB was 7% less and euro delivery was FREE.

And, what really gets my goat is that the 997TT Euro delivery is MORE expensive than say a 997C4S...for exactly the same experience...

I would find a dealer that is willing to negotiate on the price of the car, just because your doing Euro deilvery doesn't mean you have to pay MSRP, so any $$ off would go towards that $4k add on. Also look at it this way, its just a option, would you rather have a $4k experience for Euro delivery or $5k in Carbon fiber?

This really surprises me... who would have guessed that Porsche would try and gouge its customers. Why it makes the $2000 leather cup holder option seem like a down right steal. You don't like it don't buy it but you are a fool if you think that it's not worth the money to drive your beloved Porsche on the autobahn or get a tour of your most favorite car companies manuf plant. So what if the canadians get it for free... they gotta live with the fact they are CANADIANS eh?!

What does it cost o rent a 997 for per day in Germany? We will be doing our Honeymoon in Europe next year 3 out of the 10 days will be in Germany. Kevin any recomondations would be apreciated. We are spending the rest of the trip traveling through Italy. Porsche Factory tour will be on the agenda for sure.

How about both... . Still 1/2 the cost of the PCCB option is tough to swallow...

Just sour grapes is all...I just wish Porsche would follow the lead of MB and BMW on euro delivery or at least have a consistent price accross model lines for the experience.
